Why Are You Here?

Don't worry this isn't any kind of existential crisis thread (though that would be interesting).

Obviously we're all on Buffy Boards because we have an interest either in Buffy, Angel or any of the other work created by Joss Whedon. But why else do you come here?

Do you mainly enjoy the discussions?
Episode analysis?
Ship wars?
Dorms?
Or a bit of everything (though that's a bit of a cop out 😛 ).

What made you choose Buffy Boards?

Hope I haven't bombarded you with too many questions!

As much as I enjoy the discussions, I only participate in them once in a while. I'm more one of those who likes to have more general discussions over PM (so feel free to PM me, lol! 😀) rather than discuss a specific thing. I'm deffo here for the people.

I love everything about BB. None of my friends want to watch Buffy/Angel so I don't have anyone to talk to about it so I joined BB 😀

A friend recommended BB when I was on CoA many years ago. I stuck around for so long as I love the friendships that are made here and the dorms in particular. The atmosphere in general is really good and I love reading other peoples thoughts on the shows I have watched and seeing other peoples perspectives on it. The art work people do inspired me to try it and I loved it, which gave me a hobby so to speak. I still do artwork although not so much now as I'm learning gimp and miss my photoshop lol. I love seeing other peoples art work and their take on the relationships in the shows. I was a prefect and then a mod for a short while and loved that too and made yet more friends and enjoyed feeling more a part of the site. I stick around because of all that if that makes any sense lol 😀

I joined BB because I wanted to talk about Buffy and hear other ppls opinon on the show. But I stay because the people are so great, and the disscussions are interesting and fun. I was surpised how polite everyone is here, compared to other forums. Also, BB has alot of features that I find pretty awsome, such as the dorms, karma, the bronze, etc. And I'm also really happy that I get to showcase some of my artistic work!

I joined BB after a friend told me about it, I too also have no friends where I live who like buffy, most of them make fun of it ¬.¬ So to be able to come to a place where I'm not just known as the "guy who likes buffy" Is awesome!! The people here are all so awesome, and I have only really been posting for a couple of days!!

I love everything about BB (and everyone here) I joined because I didn't have have anyone to talk to about Buffy, Angel, etc... I love it here and I love loggin in everyday 😀

Before I discovered BtVS, my all time favorite show was 24, and I participated heavily on the official 24 forum on Delphi and got very accustomed to racing over there after each show to discuss every aspect of it. The discussions were quite in depth, and continued long after an episode had aired. I grew to love being able to discuss a favorite show, and was very happy to discover BB so I could discuss BtVS with people.

I came here because I wanted somewhere to talk Buffy, Angel and Bangel, but I stayed because of the people and community. And that's the reason I continue to stay. Even when the shows don't hold the same interest for me as they used to.

I was on cafepress.com and I kept seeing BB stuff, so I checked it out. SNice then I have been here to stay! (Also my friends were getting tried of my no stop Buffy babble 😀 )
I love beeing able to talk freely about the stuff I love with out being jugded or called a "nerd". Also I come here because my dorm is AWESOME!

I randomly came across the boards and noticed how active they were so I decided to give it a try. This was the first forum I have ever joined and so far it has been a neat experience to talk Buffy/Angel with others as well as get to know people from all over. I enjoy the discussions most, although I don't participate in them all that often. I totally steer clear of the shipping wars because those often get to heated and snarky for my taste.

Like so many others here, I came primarily because I am a fan of Joss Whedon in general and Buffy in particular. Once I spent some time here, and got to know the other members, it just became the place on the internet that seemed like the "right" place to be.

Also, I found a dancing partner here who may sometimes exasperate me, but never fails to amaze and inspire me, and to strengthen my Spuffy Resolve, tempering it like fine steel, forging it into a true weapon for truth, justice, and the Spuffy way.

I guess I just like having people to talk about Buffy with me. I got my friend sucked in, well sort of. She never watched all the seasons, only OMWF (which she loved, it's what got her hooked) and most of S6, so she wasn't much help to talk about all of Buffy and Angel. I was on dA (DeviantArt) and I found a banner someone made and I saw it was made for Buffy-Boards so I went to check it out. I normally never join forums but I saw it was active, and I fell in love with it, so I joined. I love it here. I find ship wars interesting, as long as it's not too crazy. I like that there are such good discussions to read - even if I don't participate in them much. It's good to know what others think. There are also a lot of nice people here 🙂

I came on cause it had been so long since I was on a Buffyverse community. I knew of the boards for a year while snooping around for an active forum but it wasn't until last October when I was watching my DVDs again that I had this itch to just join a forum again and talk about the show. That's my main reason for being here, not the ship stuff or the dorm stuff; that's just bonus.

I found BB when Bex (Bexieh) sent me something saying she had noticed that my entire Facebook wall was covered in Buffy statuses. I had been watching it, was on Season 6, and decided to give it a go. I originally planned just to lurk, but then I started posting... and loved it. 🙂

I come here for three things mainly. I like to read and take part in discussions about the Whedonverse. I also really like the big family vibe in here. And finally, I always come back because I've made many good friends here and they are still all active. 🙂

My interest in Buffy/Angel goes up and down in general. So sometimes I'm not very active, then I'll do a rewatch and get back into it, ect...

And I didn't really *choose* BBs. It chose me. 😉 I was watching Angel for the first time and I was doing a rewatch of BtVS in 2009 and I always used BuffyGuide for quotes and fun facts... And there's some place on there where I found a quote from a member here. So I clicked it and it led me here, and then I started reading threads and liking it. I lurked for a few weeks and then decided to join(I had never really been part of a fandom before).

I'm glad I decided to join. 😎
