Why did Angel call Giles "Rupert Giles" in Damage?

When Angel said

Wes called in Rupert Giles

he mentioned Giles as if he never knew him? Did anybody notice this

I just took it that the writers were aware that there might be people watching the show that didn't know who "Giles" was, so they used both his first and last name. I really don't overanalyze every little detail about the shows, so I didn't think much about it. LOL

Yeah likely what HisMrs said...then again they never said Willow Rosenberg so I'm guessing now it was to show you the relationship between them...Angel and Giles were never friends after Jenny

Aside of saying it for the benefit of those who never watched Buffy, it also makes sense that Angel would use the full name in front of people like Gunn, Lorne, and Fred who have never heard of the guy.

Yea, I agree, because in the episode Five By Five in season 1 of Angel when he's talking to Cordy and Wesley he just calls him Giles 🙂
