Why did Drusilla torture Angel in What's My Line?

I never understood that? It seem like it was just done for dramatic effect, or maybe some people on set living out a kinky fantasy LOL.

She acts like she misses her family and is torturing him for revenge, when generally speaking vampires don't have loved ones. They can form strong emotional attachments to people, but its never meant to be a selfless, genuine love. Spike did have those kinds of feelings admittedly, but he was an exception and even then Spike's love for his mother as a vampire wasn't exactly selfless. He still turned her into a monster that he hoped would torture and kill people. He only didn't like it because her cruelty turned on him.

Meanwhile no other vampires are shown to miss their loved ones and Drusilla doesn't at any other point. Even her treatment of Spike is callous. Also on top of that why is she angry at Angel for killing her family, when he didn't, but not Angelus who in contrast she is a slave too and sleeps with willingly all the time?

I mean fair enough Angel and Angelus are the same person just one without guilt, but even then the Angel persona as it was, is remorseful and hates what he did to Dru and shows her mercy, so why torture that one for revenge instead of her "daddy" who did all those things to her?

However, what would she gain by torturing Angelus? Could Angelus even be tortured? She might gain some pleasure from torturing Angelus but there is no guarantee that Angelus also wouldn't enjoy it, admiring what he turned Dru into if nothing else. If she tortures Angel, the one who does feel guilt for what he did as Angelus, that guilt might well be amplified, again because of what Angelus turned Drusilla into.

Best answer actually. Angelus can't be tortured as he is too masochistic, has no care or affection or even belief for or in anything but evil, so even if he is suffering he can still see the art in it, hence why he didn't care about Darla betraying him.

I always saw it as Dru sorta crossing between being lucid and her usual madness.
Also, she probably gets off on pain (likely inflicting) so she's having a grand ol' time.

Because Drusilla can and it amuses her? Or, you know, revenge because Angelus killed her family, tortured her until she went mad, then turned her.
