Why did Kate blame Angel for her father's death?

Because he brought her into "his world". She was annoying as hell. I mean, I understand why she was upset, but Angel did try to save the guy, and he was the one who got involved with those vampires (not that he knew what they were) in the first place. The way that she spoke about what Angel was kind of irritated me at times. She would say things like "I don't like your kind" haha it was ridiculous. She didn't even find about his past until after her father died...I believe.

Kate blamed Angel for her father's death because he was killed by a vampire, and Angel was there when she found him. I'm don't remember when, if ever, she actually found out the truth, but that was the final stroke in severing any friendship or trust that she might have had for him.

As white avenger said the vampires killed her father, then Angel came, killed the evil vampires and then Kate came. So she took the conclusion that Angel killed her father. Ot that's what I thought!

I took it more as vampires killed her father. Angel was a vampire. He was the only person she could blame. When it came to vampires he was all she knew. If she had actually believed him to have killed her father I would have expected her to go after Angel in a very real way, which didn't happen. She turned incredibly hostile on him, but was just her needing somewhere to direct her grief at, and Angel was the perfect target.

I don't think Kate thought Angel was the one who killed her father, but he is a vampire and he was a convenient scapegoat. I think Kate was having a really hard time dealing with the demon world she was thrust into and was just in a very bad place. Angel represented that world to her and was constantly involved in it, so he was the "face" of the problem for her.

Agreed.

Kate says as much to Angel in To Shanshu in L.A.

Angel: "Look, I know this hasn't been easy for you. It's okay most people can't handle what's really out here, Kate. Maybe you should think about..."
Kate laughs.
Kate: "Sorry. It's just someone who's not even a person lecturing me on 'most people,' it's kind of funny. - I can handle it fine. - And I don't care about most people and what they think of me. - What I do care about it ridding this city of your kind."
Angel: "My kind."
Kate: "Your kind. The kind that killed my father? Did you think I would just forget about that? - I don't forget anything."

And is further backed up by this scene.

Angel runs into his burning apartment form the parking garage.
Angel: "Wesley! - Wesley! - Wesley! Wes! Wes!"
He sees Wesley laying on the stairs leading up. He checks for a pulse.
Angel: "Wes. Wesley."
He slings Wesley over his shoulder and heads out.
Cut to fire engines and police in front of the building. Wesley, wearing an oxygen mask is being wheeled over to an ambulance with Angel walking beside him. He watches as they load him up, the starts for his car.
Kate: "Never a dull moment with you around, is there."
Angel: "I have to go."
Kate: "Who the hell do you think you are? You are a major witness to a major crime scene. You are not going anywhere."
Angel: "You want to try and stop me, Kate?"
Kate: "I'm glad we are not playing friends anymore. And I'm real sick and tired of your attitude. There is a thing called the law!"
Angel: "This isn't about the law, this is about a little thing - called life. Now I'm sorry about your father. But I didn't kill your father. And I'm sick and tired of you blaming me - for everything you can't handle! You want to be enemies? Try me."
Angel hurries past her to his car while she looks after him.

I think it's also because Kate believed in 'Lawful Good', and Angel lives outside of those strictures.

The law can't effectively deal with vampires and demons so vigilantes like Angel (and Buffy for that matter ) would represent part of the uncontrollable element that exists. This is one of the reasons why Lindsay was able to get her onside when dealing with Faith.

To her, he wasn't champion trying to help someone on the path of redemption, but a guy who has little respect for the law and has no issue aiding a dangerous fugative.

I actually think Kate's character is more interesting each time I watch. I especially liked watching the relationship between her and her father.
