Question Why didn't Angel ask help from Groosalugg & Gwen Raiden for the Black Thorn killings?

Angel and Gwen Raiden are tight. He knows where her residence is since they were there during Season 4, when they were protecting a guy from The Beast. Before that, they were kinda flirting. And Angel even had means to contact Gwen after he was done using that magical item that he stolen.

I also highly doubt that Gwen would relocate, even if she was a professional thief. I mean, look at her house, it doesn't look like she had plans on moving at all.

So why didn't Angel ask help from her? He could have paid her anyways, if she wants money. I mean, come on, a W&H CEO can surely afford it. Look at all the cars he has to begin with.

Now for Groosalugg, I kinda get the guy awkwardness thing that he'd be asking for help since Groo slept with Cordelia and he got beat up by him in, in non-demon form, in Pylea. But hey, Groo's a good guy, and is probably the strongest one next to Illyria. I mean Angel got a huge boost on his demon form when he was in Pylea. If it were on Earth, Groo would beat him even if he was in vampire form. I mean, Groo killed numerous monsters in Pylea alone.

So anyways, with W&H's sources, he could have easily find Groosalugg. Why do you think he didn't ask help from him too?

First off I think Gwen would not have wanted to help in all honesty. Did you see what happened when she was around the team the time before lol I don't blame her.

Groosalugg was there because he was with Cordy otherwise he wasn't really in the mix. He left and I don't know if Angel would even consider him.
It would have been nice if they could have helped but maybe he just didn't think of them.

Didn't Gwen skip town after she and Gunn stole LISSA? It's been a long time since I saw that ep, but I can't imagine her hanging around if she knew there were people after her who knew what she looked like. I think she'd scarper right quick.

As for Groo...do we even know where he went after S3? He left Cordy, but he never mentioned to anyone else that he was going. And, really, he was just in Angel's way as far Angel was concerned. I doubt Angel even thought about him again after he was brought up from the depths of the ocean.

Didn't Groo go back to Pylea?

No. He just left Angel inc.

probably the strongest one next to Illyria.

No way! What makes you think that? He wasn't even as strong as Angel to begin with.

As for your question... I'm pretty sure it was just because the producers didn't wanna pay the actors to come back, or these same actors were busy at the time. I mean, we had not seen Groo since s3, and Gwen since s4. These characters were promptly dropped and barely mentioned again... Which kinda annoy me when I think about it... 😡

But for money, or let alone, all of Angel's cars, maybe she would.

Besides... was Groo ever contacted when Cordelia died? I mean come on, just some courtesy.

No, Gwen was still in LA. He was even dating some guy before LISSA malfunctioned and fried him because LA was sent to a Hell Dimension. She was in Hell LA. So she didn't leave town.

Groo was still in LA. He was still in LA when it was sent to a Hell Dimension. Honestly, I don't think he could leave with his intelligence. How could he get a job? Or even get a cab out of the city. Let alone the directions of the city. lol

But he sure didn't mind hiring Lindsay.

AND for those of us who haven't read the Angel comics, namely me, I'm stepping out of this discussion.

But while I'm here, I resent the fact that you think Groo wouldn't have the smarts to hire a cab. He led Pylea, got them to form their own government or whatever it was he did before he came to this dimension. And he spent all that time with Cordelia. I highly doubt he didn't pick up SOME street smarts.

Groo beat the crap out of Angel in Pylea. Only reason why Angel won was because he turned into the Pylea-Vamp form, which was 10x (I think?) stronger than Earth-Vamp form.

Angel can beat Spike most of the time, so that makes Spike kinda weaker than Angel, making him weaker than Groo.

They could surely outsmart him though.

P.S.

Groo killed giant monsters in Pylea... alone. No gang to back him up, like Angel has.

Oh, sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude.

Groo had an intelligence of a Medieval peasant. The people revolted, he got ousted. No doubt he's a champion and is capable of Herculean heroics but he's just not that smart.

When did they say that the vamp form in Pylea made him ten times stronger? If you've noticed, Angel usually become a lil stronger when he puts his vamp face on. I just thought it was the same thing when he turned into a *vamp* in Pylea, against Groo. He got a bit stronger, enough to win the fight. But that was it. And what kind of giant monsters? Haven't seen him fight anything that big! 😉

Ummm... I actually don't know where I got the figure of x10. I think I read it somewhere. but I remember Wesley saying that it was the true form of the vampire. It co-exist with the human form on Earth but in Pylea, it was in it's full power form, losing the humanity.

"It is also more physically stronger than the merged version of itself and a human, with a level of strength that is comparable to that of its Turok-Han cousins."

I don't know where to quote it from but I think it was Groo who said that he slayed something like this Earth's version of a Dragon. Umm... I don't remember the name of the creature because the name sounded weird, you know Pylean names and all.

I don't know. I just never pictured Groo as being *that* strong. Sure he was in his world, but on Earth he never really showed he was anything special. I mean, come on... He got his ass kicked by Connor, when they were like three against one. Lmao! 😛 Dragon slayer my ass!

Lyri agrees: Hey! Don't knock Connor! Connor's a badass!

Pft, sure! 😉 Connor's strength was variable at best. He appears from Quor'Toth, one shot some huge ass demon, then proceed to pretty much take care of Angel's team by himself... Later on, he also kill Jasmine with one freaking punch(how lame was that?!). But then he just get completely crushed by The Beast, and toyed with by Faith.. Huh?

Beat might not be the best term, but he got his ass kicked in that fight at the beginning of 'A New World'.
Oh! That one.

Nah, he was just knocked off for a bit. He wasn't beaten like how Angel was totally ass-whooped when he fought Groo in Pylea. His Vamp form there was far stronger than his Earth-Vamp form and that's why he almost killed Groo.

Pylea-Vamp form = almost Toruk-Han.

And why are most of my questions being moved here to the "Others" section?

I placed them properly on each section based on which Season the character in question appeared in.

Because most of your questions, while based on events that happened in a certain season, encompass many different seasons and characters, as well as both shows.

Darn. But the characters I put in only appeared on those seasons. Like my Helen Bruckner and Lyle Gorch question.

But in the Lyle thread we've also be discussion 'The Wish', 'The Harvest', Angel season 5, Vamp!Willow/Xander, and Dracula. It makes sense to move it.
