As the title says; why didn't any of the Scoobies ever warn Cordelia that Harmony was a vampire? and how did Harmony know that Cordelia was at the Hyperion in "Disharmony"?

I think it was just so they could do the lesbian joke phone call between Cordy and Willow. It was pretty funny, and nice to have a tiny crossover back to sunnydale. Maybe the scooby gang just didnt think Harmony would get that far, or live that long, as a vampire.

I assumed Harmony knew that Cordelia had gone to LA, as Cordy never hid her disdain for small town life. How she figured out the Hyperion, I can only guess that Harmony had tracked down Angel and figured out that the two were working together.

Well as Octavia said it was done for the joke, but Willow kinda did try, she just didn't explain it very well & Cordy misunderstood what she was implying.

As for how she knew Cordy was at the Hyperion, that will just have to go down to one of those things that would take up far too much screen time explaining so we just have to go with it 😀

BIMD (Because It's More Dramatic)! But seriously, I never got the sense that Cordelia kept in touch that much with her friends in Sunnydale after she left. It may be that they just never got around to telling her because they never saw her or spoke to her on the phone. It likely wouldn't have seemed that important, because Harmony was hanging around Sunnydale for a while, and there was no reason to think she'd look up Cordelia in LA.

As for how Harmony knew where Cordy was, perhaps while lurking around for victims, she overheard one of Cordy's friends in Sunnydale mention her whereabouts, and that's what gave Harmony the idea to find her.

Oh, most of the writers were born in the early 70s.

It is one of those things that annoys me. You would think the two groups would stay in contact, something that could be very easily said to happen off screen, but don't.

The other thing to consider is, the Scoobies are supposed to be a secret organization. And given that nobody has had their friends and family brutally massacred, they clearly have been successful in that endeavor. Perhaps the reason the series never embraced cell phones was due to Willow and Giles realizing very early on that the City government, WR&H, Fox Mulder, The Initiative, or just very open minded vampires could be listening. While it makes sense to exchange intelligence, keeping a cell structure also makes sense in those circumstances.

Reality-wise, it’s because it would be weird to have such a direct crossover with Angel in an already busy Season 4. With everything else going on, Harmony really doesn’t matter nearly as much as things like the Gem of Amara.

Personally, I like to think the Scoobies thought she was such a joke that she would never be a threat to anyone. So they just didn’t bother because Harmony wasn’t worth the effort. It’s funnier that way 😉

Meh. Let’s be real It’s not like Cordelia was close to them in the later half of season 3. When she and Xander break up, she reverts to form and starts treating them all like dirt again. She makes The Wish, constantly insults Buffy and Xander. She only really comes through in the Prom and Graduation. In Angel season one in the first crossover episode I will remember you she is extremely dismissive and insulting towards Buffy in a conversation with Doyle that actually makes Doyle question if she’s jealous of her. Then in a conversation with her in the same episode she’s also dismissive and “ you can’t have everything “. They aren’t friends. Cordelia has consistently been a jerk and it’s actually surprising in season 2 that she even called Willow at all about Harmony, but not surprising that she assumed she was , in her terms, a “ lesbo”. Why would the scooby gang be thinking of Cordelia when they have their own world ending stuff to deal with and she peaced out to LA, has made it clear she doesn’t like them, and Willow is aware she works for Angel and therefore is suitably protected?

You might be a little harsh toward Cordy, but it’s hard to disagree with what you said.
