Why didn't anyone call the police on Buffy for firing a rocket launcher?

I'm obviously talking about the scene in 'Innocence'. They were in public no less. 😉 Why did no one call the police on her?!

I would go with the shock, not believing it happened theory. By the time they had realised what had happened they probably thought that someone else would have called the police instead.

I think everyone was too preoccupied with getting out of the building so they wouldn't die. I'm sure someone tried to call 911 but since everything was connected & run through the mayor, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. He would've found a way to cover it up.

Fear?

I would have thought that considering the sea of weird things Sunnydale residents see on a daily basis, a girl with a rocket launcher killing one of them wouldn't be that bad. Repression is a wonderful thing.

Perhaps because she used it to subdue the guys with big teeth trying to eat people? Shoot! If people were aimin' at attackin' me and somebody came came out, guns a blazin' I would be apt to let them be.

The big question is why didn't the folks at the mall call the police on the teethy guys? I'm left to assume they could of but the calls wouldn't of been responded to, as per mayors request. And even if they *were* going to respond if there was a call, police on average are slow... 5-10 minutes or so is not uncommon. Tactical response teams/swat doubly so. But the incident took only a few moments to be over... so they could of showed up after the action was over.

Well that's simply because the people were stunned by The Judge. 😉

I'm leaning towards the Mayor covering it all up, and the fact that there seems to be a distinct lack of Mobile Phones in the Buffyverse 😀 so no one will probably be brave enough to stay and use a public phone inside the theatre while chaos is erupting.

The title of this thread made me lol for a while

If someone had a rocket launcher, I would not call the police on them right away. Because they have a rocket launcher.

Also, people of Sunnydale like to just not deal with the crazy things that keep happening in their town.
