Pretty straight forward question. Did she not go because she wasn't gone long enough? I realize that her acting bitchy in When She Was Bad could have been because of this, just the fact that she died creeped her out. So, why no heaven when she died the first time?

Well, did they actually state on the show that she didn't? I don't remember any of this. She might have possibly... or probably because of the fact that she was really only technically dead for a minute or so. Maybe it wasn't enough time?

^That's what I always figured. I mean a minute or so, a person can still be revived after that can't they? She wouldn't even be brain-dead yet (at least not to the point of no longer able to function afterwards), so I'm guessing that yeah, it was just not enough time for her to "leave".

Buffy didn't exactly die, in Prophecy Girl she stopped breathing for a minute at most.
Death is the total cessation of all vital organs, fact is, after a minute she would still have had brain activity and a heart beat, if very faint.
IF she had 'died' then no amount of CPR would have revived her, infact CPR, contrary to popular TV belief, rarely revives someone, its a method to keep someone breathing and blood pumping until the proper equipment can be brought in to revive.

So, the reason Buffy didnt actually go to Heaven, was because, although the Slayer Line assumed she had died and passed the line on, the Soul was still encased in the dying Body waiting for its release.

Ooh, very excellent points!
or, if you say that she was dead, you could say that she didnt go because her job on earth wasnt finished. when she died in The Gift, she said she felt her job was done so she was sent to a better place and later was taken out of that.
