Why didn't the Master drink from Buffy properly?

We seen in The Wish that the master seemed almost tired of the whole feeding process. he wanted mass produced blood and couldn't feed on a girl because she kept looking at him. I think he's more about power and his place in the vampire hierarchy than an actual hunt and kill kinda vamp. He took what he needed to get free, and set off to rule over Sunnydale. Buffy got the job done, then she was just tossed aside.

I understand what you are saying, but he seemed to really enjoy the blood once he had a taste, he says "oh G-d!! the power...." but then just drops her. You would have thought hed taken a few more sips 🙂 haaaa

I love the bit when he says to her ,"if you I hadn't come, I couldn't go. Think about that." And the camera zooms in on Buffys face, not even her whole face, you see the single tear falling... AMAZING STUFF!!!

The slayer's (meaning Buffy) blood is the key to the Master escaping the church. That is said in "The Harvest". If he drinks the blood of a slayer then the curse is lifted and he is free to walk the earth. That is why Luke was drinking people's blood in "The Harvest". The Master clearly didn't have a back up plan incase Buffy survived so that's why he let his guard down when he was on the roof of the library.

That brings up another question. If you were going to go through all of the trouble of drinking the blood of a slayer, and escaping the church you were damned too...Wouldn't you want to get as far away from it as you could? Also, How did Buffy know where to find him? Buffy said that she was immune to his powers so I wonder if she could some how sense him? Looking back on it I now realize that there are a lot of inconsistencies in that episode.

Yeah, that fact always kinda bothered be. Not in a literal sense, but more like a "That's it?" feeling.

As many stated above, i always chalked it up to the Master being in a hurry to get to the surface world. People in a rush take shortcuts, which was obviously what the Master did in the episode.

I totally agree. He is so old I guess it makes sense that he would get tired of feeding. Nicely put!

I suppose he would just be overwhelmed by the power ("The power!") and he had been waiting forever to get out of that hell-hole of his. But I agree, one bite wouldn't have killed her had he not drowned her also.

That's so sad 🙁 Who gets tired of eating? Haha and I feel like he would savor a slayer's blood 😉 but I guess I'll just have to accept this theory because I can't think of anything that makes more sense.

I agree totally you saw in The Wish that he was really bored by the usual feed and kill. He wanted something new like mass production, so he just used Buffy to get free and then tossed her in the water out of two reasons I think.

1. He didn't care about the slayer blood so he just drank what he needed to get to the surface

2. Because the prophecy said she would die which she did
