Well the fans have been complaining to sky about the fact that episodes have been cut for the 8pm time slot when we all know it would be better in a later one and sky say that they believe Buffy is fine for this time slot, besides it's a ratings winner so why mess with success?

Well why does a popular show like Buffy get treated like this when a BRAND NEW show like Alias gets shown at 8pm on a wednesday and then repeated at 10pm on a Saturday at 10pm? Where is the sense... the buffy fans are screaming out for a later showing of Buffy so why can't a well established show get this when a relatively new show labeled as 'The new Buffy' Gets this treatment...

If you get my meaning... views? Opinions?

Your Rogue Lawyer,

Lindsey McDonald

I really do not understand it at all either given the popularity of the show on the other hand I assume they are attempting to schedule it at a time when the most fans can watch. 10pm on a school night is way too late for some fans though early to others obviously. I suppose they just want something in between.

Why they can't show it later on one of the days though instead of 6pm on a Saturday is beyond me! We should have an UNCUT showing!

i agree its quite annoying that they cut them/dont repeat it , but i think the Sky schedulers generally do a good job, at least its on at a regular time every week - and we get to watch Angel too, cant say the same about terrestrial telly 🙂

love angela 🙂

I quite agree that a later, uncut showing on say Friday/Saturday at around 10.00PM should not be too difficult to arrange. That being said, schedulers are not the brightest of people! 🙄 Maybe Sky got them from Channel 4! 😱

What's wrong with just having a dedicated 24/7 buffy channel??
Hmmm one feels like having a Poll, would we pay for a separate uncut Buff and Ange fest channel. If so how long for (i.e. would we pay once we had all seen all the episodes, how many new ones per week would be necessary in order for us to pay a separate subscription, would we be willing/able to pay extra to have an adless zone) So many questions. It's easy enough to set up a Digital/Cable channel....... Ho Hum, maybe it's just me

I was annoyed when I saw that Alias was being given a later time slot. I undestand Sky wanting to aim it at a youngish audience, as that is what has worked previously.

However, the show has eveolved as the characters have aged... it is no longer set in high school and should not be aimed at the younger teens (though undoubtedly the brighter ones enjoy it still😀 ) It is like trying to put 'Pulp Fiction' on at dinner time. If you need to cut it to make it 'fit' with the schedule, then obviously, by definition, it does not 'fit' or belong there at all.

Fair enough, try to get the younger viewers if you must, hey, that is what the 8.00 slot is all about and why they are cutting it is it not? Then why the hell do they then show it at an even earlier time? Are they also trying to capture the pre-teen market? *throws hands up in the air in total despair* Obviously they have already catered for the younger market they are so desperate to capture, so why then do they insist on alienating their loyal fan base who have been with the show for years now?

It is bad enough that they do this, but to then give another a show, without a regular fan base yet established, exactly what established and vocal fee paying Buffy fan's wanted, is a kick in the teeth. Where is the respect man? I bet alias fans didn't have a campaign running, or the support of the Guardian newspaper, or such a huge internet fan base willing to contact Sky, or even a petition damn it!::grrr::

I do agree that Sky don't treat us as badly as other networks seem to treat Buffy fans (C4's ridiculous showing of Angel and BBC2s fantastic snooker coverage in place of Buffy.. and the news that Angel is being pulled on WB for 5 weeks and possibly cancelled) However, this does rub salt into the scheduling wound.

Uncut....? What kinds of things get cut out of your shows over there? There's nothing cut over here in Canada, and we're a 'colony'. ;-)

It would suck to have things cut out of buffy :-(

I hate the fact that we can't get an uncut version of Buffy, on the 6pm saturday slot they cut unoffensive words out. In the musical they cut it when Spike said "Bugger This" now come on what is wrong with that, would anybody actually be offended by that. They let Spike say "Bloody" why not that. The editors need to learn what actually are classed as swear words these days. I wouldn't care if Buffy was aired at 1amas long as we could get a recording of an unedited version

I was even more piffled off when is witched on Sky One on Saturday night to find that ANGEL was being shown again at around midnight... once again UNCUT... Hello... BUFFY BUFFY BUFFY ::crying:: I want Uncut Buffy.....::crying::

I think the 8pm slot on thursday is cool but i believe 6 is too early for a saturday! If i miss it, i wanna watch ALL of it on a saturday!
EVERYONE SHOULD GIVE BUFFY THE RESPECT IT DESERVES!
Im 14 and i ::heart:: it and would rather it 8pm on thurs although i would still watch it at 10pm before i went to bed but 8 is better i think.
The concept of a buffy/angel channel is interesting . . . how mcuh would people pay and how many new eps would you need to show? but many fans would watch old ones over and over again. It would pave the way for e.g. a friends-only channel. The channel could come free with the whole sky package (which i have! lol) !

I think you should start a vote, Mark 🙂

An all Buffy/Angel channel....now that does sound good!!

It seems like they are always cutting Buffy, and it is getting beyond a joke. I remember in season 5 (i think) where Spike was held by the intiative and he thought that it had something to do with Buffy. They cut the line ' I always wondered what would happen when that bitch got some funding' .....i dont see anything wrong with that!!

I agree with you Sweetpea on the fact that the show has evolved, and they cant stay in high school forever - unlike Beverly HIlls 90210!!

I think the network executives should take a look at sites like this where the fans are giving their opinions, and listen to it!

Im 14 and ::heart:: buffy more than any other programme so you have to keep things like that in mind! I like the time its on but it hink and unedited version should be shown as a repeat instead of the stupid time of 5pm on a saturday!
A buffy/angel channel . . . wow ! ! ! Lol.
I agree, faith! The executives should read this site or at least this link/page! Lol, definetly! 🙂

I was watching the sky one easter Buffy fest the other day, and 'Anne' was on... and I was so outraged as they had cut one of my favourite lines ever (and seeing as I was busy pre-empting all the cool bits... OK I was showing off by quoting the best bits before they were said😛 ) and it made the episode a bit nonsensical.

The bit I am refering to is where Buffy asks if the demon wants to see her Ghandi impression. Now I understand why they had to cut the quote because of the swearing... but couldn't they have dubbed it over with something like 'He was really hacked off as well'?

To the non Buffy fraternity it makes no sense to see her say she will give a demo of Ghandi (well known for his overly peaceful nature) and then bashing a demons head in with no explaination as to how in Gods name that could be an impression of afore mentioned all round loveable bald guy.

grrrrr::grrr:: It makes me sooo mad. You may as well have cut the whole Ghandi scene for all the sense it made to new viewers and just shown Buffy kicking demon butt (well, technically head, but you get my drift)

and once again.... grrrrr ::grrr::

Lol, chill sweatpea. I see your point though! Its the stupid censor thing! But dubbing wouldnt have worked because it has to be SMG's voice! Lol.
They have to do it, i suppose. But yeah, its not fair! Lol (agreeing is the most peaceful thing in this case!) 😀
