Why do you think vampires don't vamp out on Halloween?

We were told more than once that vampires don't do their crimes on Halloween. But we were never told why. So it's guess work here. Why do you think that is?

Vampires, and probably all other demons as well, probably couldn't stand the sight of humans pretending to be the "real" thing. They would either get totally disgusted or spend so much time laughing that they couldn't feed properly anyhow, so why take the risk?

I like this theory. :)
What WA said. It's something of a cultral thing. I'm sure some vampires do go out during Halloween, but most find the concept of humans pretending to be monsters as vulgar.

I thought there was a quote from someone calling "amateur night" the unappealing aspect of not going out on Halloween.

I agree with white avenger and may it's something like we don't steal a baby a lolipoop. The baby won't notice. It's so easy. But because it's s easy noone does. It's something like a moral standart that we all (should) have. May Halloween is for the demons so easy too. Maybe too easy. May the demon would loose his face while slaying at Halloween. As ironic it sounds it's surely a moral standart for demons.

Oh yeah, evil demons have standards too lol.
If I recall properly, Spike said something to the effect that no "self respecting" vampire went out on Halloween. We do know that at least one family of vamps ignored the tradition in Season 6's "All The Way," so there are probably others who did as well.

They're not fans of the "hype" so to speak. Perhaps they like a challenge...all of those tasty treats just wandering around...wayyy too easy 😉 but clearly not all vamps live by that rule, as was proven in All the Way.
