Why do you write fan-fics

I've been writing since I was 11-12. Real person fic for the most part. lol yes I know. I have started working on my own novel though.. i finally moved into more of fandom related fics. Harry potter for awhile all of which except one are in notebooks hidden away never to be seen again lol. I started a Doctor who one a year ago that I abandoned. Now after starting buffy, I started my first buffy fic 🙂
I believe my writing has changed a lot of the years. I try to be more plot orientated even if that means the ending isn't always happy. My stories tend to be more mature rated also unless I decide to do more fluff.

I have yet to write any Buffy-related fanfiction, but I used to write for boards dedicated to The Legend of Zelda video game series. X]

I usually wrote fanfics to provide my own take on stories and background that's given but not fully explained. The scenarios turn out the way I choose, so I'm not disappointed. It's easier to write at times when the characters and general idea are already given. Writing also keeps my brain busy and away from doing something unproductive.
