Why doesn't Angel burn in L.A.

it's no huge deal because the show is still enjoyable, but why is it when he walks around in the mornings and stuff, in complete sunlight, or even in the second episode i think he was walking IN THE CITY, why didn't he like uh... die? spike did the same thing, he was in the sunlight. neither of them was wearing the gem of amrrha (or however you spell it) at the time.

well in season 5 in the Wolfram & Hart officers they had "necro-tempered glass" in order for the vamps working there to be able to waltz around and work even during the day time without that pesky bursting into flames thing.

I don't remember him actually walking around IN the city when the sun was out. He drove though but I would suppose his cars had the same kind of glass in order to shield him.

When he or other vamps would walk around during the day they would have to take tunnels and the like and stay in indirect sunlight. They can do that and be okay. And in hell dimensions they can walk around anytime and anywhere during the day.

As Angel said to Kate once, he can walk about in daylight he just needs to stay in the shadows.
Spike said pretty much the same thing in Something Blue, about marrying Buffy outside under a tree.

JM joked about how he in season 4 had to run around with a blanket all the time, so Spike wouldn't burn, but that DB could walk in sunlight, because he had his own show, or something to that effect. And I think I remember Angel needing to be less in the shadows than Spike, without smoking.

And I think that's it. But I guess I could give you a fanwank answer. Angel was older than Spike, thus less flameable.

ILLYRIAN agrees: Strange thing that, did they have it installed mainly for Ange? As they had clients that were vampires in Angel season 1

I suspect they had it before Angel but we never got to see it because there weren't much day time action there with vampires.

But like you said they had vamp clients and also Harmony mentions having worked there which makes me think that they have her and more vamps on the staff that they don't want to burn:giggle:

It always made me wonder a bit too when I saw him walking in rooms that seemed to have a lot of sunlight... But hey, it's not like it's the first time in Buffy or Angel(or any other show/movie) that there was continuity errors 😛

I thought that was the client's building. I don't think they met in the Wolfram and Hart building then.
