Question Why doesn't Spuffy work for you?

I'm a fan of S7 Spuffy but I think that's the only time I was hoping those two would get together. I'd 'ship Bangel over Spuffy until the day I die for the following reasons:
-I want Spike with Drusilla again
-Their relationship in Season Six was based all around sex and Spike's obsession with her
-"Seeing Red" no explanation there
-Spike held Buffy the whole night and told her it was the best night of her life and then when Angel comes in Buffy kisses him proving that she loved Angel more
-Spike loved her a lot more than what she loved him
-In Chosen Buffy admits to Spike that "She loves him" and Spike is in disbelief.
-By Angel Season Five and After the fall it appears Spike's moved on and is more interested in Fred/Illyria
-Sarah Michelle Gellar and James Marsters are not Spuffies from what I can tell. James has said Dru is Spike's perfect match and Sarah Michelle Gellar has been supportive of Bangel and hated the episode "Smashed"

There's more than that but I'd figure I would stop there.
 
I like Spuffy, I really do, but "Seeing red" really ruined it for me. I really can't get over it. End of s7 I'm back to loving Spuffy at times but only because I really like Spike and only when I manage to repress "SR". I don't know, I have a lot harder of a time forgiving Spike for that than Buffy does I guess. I really wish that scene could be undone.

And after s7 I just don't see a future for them together. It feels like they've both moved on even though they still care dearly for each other.

Oh, I'm not at all looking forward to watching Seeing Red which I taped today. Spike's my favourite character and I don't want to hate him :(

Spike had no soul and Buffy realizes this. She really didn't have to forgive him.

I know. It's a hard scene for everyone. But, that was a critical part of their journey. And I think that's what made scenes in s7 stand out even more, at least for me. Knowing what this couple has gone through and to still reach a point of comfort, trust, and love with each other. But, my love for Spuffy is for another thread 🙂 I respect those who don't like Spuffy, even though I can't understand it 😉
