How to start....hmmmm....it was an amazing show that made me laugh, cry, etc. Buffy spoke to the average, modern, teenager. From seasons 1-3, it was about the life of a teenage woman going through relationships, breakups, issues with parents, amking and losing friends, trying to find out who she was. I felt like I grew up with Buffy, went through the same things she did (except the vampire slaying of course), I could relate to the character. In season 4, Buffy was becoming an adult and just starting to realize who she was eg. meeting with the first slayer. Season 5 she became a mother and sister to Dawnie after Joyce died. Season 6, after being raised from the dead, she again, was trying to find her place in the world. Finally in Season 7, (my favourite season) she found her true calling. She realized the source of her power and with the potentials', she destroyed The First. Buffy was a very strong symbol of femal empowerment, I'm not a feminist or anything, but I enjoyed being able to watch a show with a girl/girls' as the heroes. I felt empowered. At some point every day in my ordinary, every-day life, I think about Buffy. I've used so many lines from the show with family and friends, I can't help it! Joss created something magical and heartwarming. Sure every episode had "the big bad", but there was always some other important message if you read beneath the lines. That's what I liked about it, it wasn't all about the violence and death, but about the bonds of friendship that keep us together through the good and the bad. It was about so many things. I don't know how many episodes made me cry or be close to crying, but there were a lot. You felt the pain when Angel dumped Buffy, when Joyce died, when Buffy revealed that she was actually in heaven before being ressurected, when Buffy called it quits with Riley. When Spike regained his soul to be with Buffy, you felt the pain Buffy felt becuase what had happened to him. It was a miraculous series that I think deserved more credit then it got, but atleast it ended while it was still ahead of the game. That's why it'll be remembered, and that's why I love Buffy.
