Why I love Dawn

yep

Those two episodes were great...Dawn has her annoying times...but hell she's a teenager. lol

I love her little friendship thing she has with Spike:3 and he calls her 'lilttle bit'

She annoys me so much in season 5 - she is all whiny.. But I think she is getting better in season 6 and 7. Especially in season 7.. I also love the moment where she realizes that Amanda is the potential, not her. She turned out to be very responsible there.

She complains in Forever about Buffy shutting her out, but then skips school and gets in trouble enough to where they might take Dawn away and Buffy asks about all the times she asked Dawn how school was. Didn't Dawn shut Buffy out there? IMO, Dawn does way more bad things than good. Her redeeming qualities aren't enough compared to her faults. I think they tried too hard to make her character believeable, and I agree that it's overkill.

Forever made me lose a lot of respect for her. I was 12 and experienced great loss, but I didn't want to make him come back. He had moved on.

Then there's Empty Places... That says it all right there.

Which is her turning point. She gets WAY better after that.

Remember this?
DAWN: (shrugs) The power wasn't mine.

XANDER: They'll never know how tough it is, Dawnie, to be the one who isn't chosen. To live so near to the spotlight and never step in it. But I know. I see more than anybody realizes because nobody's watching me. I saw you last night. I see you working here today. You're not special. You're extraordinary. (stands, kisses her forehead, starts to walk out of the room)

Look, she needs attention - no one is giving her that at that point.
Which is why Xander decided to date her.
And now, when Buffy realises she has feelings for Xander, it's too late (Season 8).
