Why is Connor Androgynous

Well, androgynous means (roughly) possessing about an equal amount of male and female characteristics, in some cases making it difficult to tell, just by looking, what gender a person is.

Connor has a kind of pretty face, longish hair, a lean body that isn't overly muscled like a guy's can be, nor curvy like a girl's can be, but somewhere in between.

Does that help?

wasn't asking what it meant...

Spike is equally lean, though more toned & Groo has longer hair. Not to mention the fact that Connor's supposed to be a teen...

Spike's personality is much more masculine though. I don't think you could ever argue that he exhibits feminine traits. He makes nail varnish look macho. The same with Groo, he's a very masculine kind of guy. It's the combination of the hair, the waifishness, the big eyes, the whineyness, etc. etc. that contribute to the Androgynous comment.

Plus, Willow rattles it off as if that's how he's been described to her. Who have we seen that Willow's in contact with? Cordelia. Who is the one person who would likely use that as a description of someone? Cordelia.

I'm with you on all of the above except for the Cordy part. I'm pretty sure she's only had contact with Fred since S3, but maybe Cordy made that comment before...

He has soft eyes that can display so much vulnerablility. And he has a soft face. No hard edges. I think that makes him feminine in the sense that western culture usually associates softness and vulnerability with females. Men are suppose to be macho and Connor is just too cute to be considered non-androgynous.

IIRC, there was that short period in S3 before Cordy ascended, and after Connor came back all teenaged and stroppy. There was plenty of time there for a call. I think the communication between the parties was just downplayed for the network differences - they must have talked more often than was shown.

Yeah, that's what I meant, I got what you were saying. I'm sure there was more contact than was shown, but not tons since:

Giles doesn't love Angel
Xander dislikes Angel
Willow likes Angel, but it's implied they don't speak often
Buffy & Angel have that history, so...
Giles doesn't love Wesley
Xander dislikes Wesley
Willow has never had too much contact with Wesley (kinda funny given the fact that they're married, lol)
Buffy doesn't like Wesley
Buffy didn't like Cordy
Willow tolerated Cordy at most (but is seen chatting with her regarding Harmony, though Willow clearly doesn't enjoy the conversation)
Xander has that history with Cordy, so...
Giles never had much contact with Cordy

That´s a good question because I don´t think he is androgynous.. I think he just have baby face xD
