Why the Xander hate?

When I started watching Buffy, I didn't like the way he was towards Angel (I *was* once a bangel fan, but not anymore)

Also the whole obsessed with buffy thing I hated that

But during Season 3 - 7 I liked him more

I'm not sure why there is soo much hate against Xander, I think he's a great Character 😀
