For me personally I reckon 2017 will be the better year. As for the rest of the world? I can't say for certain.

the dumb ass politicians who said that the climate change stuff was a scare campaign by the Europeans will find out it wasn't.
And that it is just like smoking, people say it is bad for you but there is no actual guaranteed proof yet it does have a use by date.
And if that date is passed and the problems were there but ignored
it makes no difference what you do as the end of days will have begun.
So how long will it take for the world to run its course 1, 2, or 500 years it makes no difference as mankind will forgive all the
politicians because they say they believe in God, even if they have had great responsibility in killing off nearly all of Gods creations.

By default I guess😉 I mean politically it could get worse without a doubt. But really there were a lot of factors that made 2016 such a terrible year. I can't really see us losing as many great cultural figures this year for a starters.

Celebrity deaths with just become the norm now. 'Celebrity' became a thing in the 60s, and by the 70s there were the 'megastars', celebrity numbers only increased year by year. All of those from the 60s/70s/80s are all oldies now. I don't think it will slow down at all I'm afraid.

Of course, but don't forget many of the ones who died last year went before their times. And though it seems mean to choose who you mourn over I tend to get a little more down when the likes of Bowie, Rickman and Fisher go than I would an old cast member of Eastenders😉

Yeah, probably because there was a lot of drug use in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Addiction is pretty much a constant in 99.9% of celebrity life. And addiction definitely lowers life expectancy.

No one who lives here in my area can deny the fact that the weather has changed considerably over the last few decades. Whether it is a normal cyclic change, a man made disaster, or a combination of the two, when the high today is 36 and tomorrow it's 73, and they say it'll be in the low 40's tomorrow, something's definitely wacky.

On a personal level 2016 was decent enough for me. The big life change was buying a house. Although that hasn't been plain sailing, I'm still very lucky to have been able to do it. Turning 30 wasn't the end of the world. I got a cool party out of it and I'm not falling apart yet. A whole load of great gigs and good times.
I can't say I'm bothered by the celebrity deaths. I'm sure someone influential to me will die eventually and I'll be a bit more sad but I don't know these people so it's just like any other bad news story.
Politically though it's been a real shit storm of a year. In the UK the Conservatives have continued their reign of terror and topped it off by introducing the most invasive surveillance laws in the Western World. The like minded people inside the main opposition party, Labour, have been hard at work attacking their leader for offering an alternative to business as usual. They also stole a fortune from voters.
Brexit was, is and will continue to be a shambles. The idea of leaving the EU isn't bad in itself and was worthy of discussion but that's where it ends. There was no plan either from the government or those campaigning to leave. No nuance for the voters to consider. No thought given to the legalities and practicalities of leaving. We're left in the ridiculous situation of hearing our Prime Minister state "Brexit means Brexit" and that we're aiming for a "red, white and blue Brexit" and passing those of as plans and acceptable answers to questions.
Donald Trump being elected into the most high profile position on the planet is a damning indictment of not just America but our whole species. During what should have been serious debates about the future of the country and by extension the planet he talked about the size of his penis. Possibly more than climate change.
2017 unfortunately promises more of the same. Now that it's been firmly established that lying is OK, cheating is OK and that campaign promises and manifestos mean nothing politicians really do have license to do as they please.

I did wonder what it meant, I thought it was Br exit as in it is bloody cold OR it was a timetable thing. ie: BR = British Rail exit. And that it was a vague reference to the channel tunnel.
