Why was Marc Blucas added into the credits right away but not Amber Benson?

There as been a lot of answers to this, all of which are pretty coped out for my taste.
1) because Joss wanted to do that thing where he killed off a character right after adding them to the credit.
2) for budget reason, because it cost more to have a character as a permanent character instead of a supporting role.
3) Amber actually didn't want to be in the main cast to keep her options open if she wanted to leave (this is actually the most satisfactory answer I got)
In my opinion though, it's pretty much crap that she wasn't included, she more than deserved that spot. I'm okay if it was Amber's decision, as some have mentioned in the past, but Tara should have been part of the main assemble.

My main guess is that it was because he was the main character's boyfriend and that meant he was in every ep after...was it Doomed? I can't remember.
Tara was only a recurring character, she wasn't in all the episodes with Willow, sometimes, for various reasons, she was absent.
But I take your point, Amber Benson should've been in the credits from S5 onwards (after all Anya was 🙁 )

Once you are part of the main cast of a show, you are contracted to that show and that means that you have to be available at any time during the filming period. (Usually July through March) Even if you're not appearing in all the episodes of that season, you need to be available in case of last minute script changes.
This makes it VERY difficult - if not impossible - to take other jobs during that time. Amber probably felt like she wanted the space and freedom to take other acting jobs as and when she wanted to. She was writing and working on Chance during S5, so she probably felt like she wanted the time to really give it the attention it deserved, so that she would be able to start filming it as soon as BtVS finished for the year.
By the time S6 rolled around, Joss probably thought that it would have a more emotional impact if he added her to the credits of the ep she dies in, and Amber said it was so that she could say a proper 'thank you' to the fans.

Because, despite being disliked by many people amongst the fanbase, Riley's character was more important in the show than Tara was. He was the hero's love interest after all. And well... he was just that awesome. 😉

How was Sarah able to film movies and Buffy? She was filming Cruel Intentions during the 1999 Season of Buffy
Because she did it during hiatus - usually mid-March until the end of June. She colored her hair dark for that movie and it wasn't dark on the show, ergo, it wasn't filmed when she was filming BtVS.
There is NO WAY anyone who was a main character in a TV series would be able to film a movie during the months that the show shoots. They're all filmed during the breaks. A TV show - especially something like BtVS, AtS, Supernatural, Arrow - typically shoots 14 plus hour days, five/six days a week, July until March.
Not only would an main actor not have the time to go and film something else, but there's clearly - see Amber's interview - a clause in their contract that means they are contracted to that show and that show alone during the months of filming.
Interviews and appearances are a different matter - that's promotion for the show, and they probably have something in their contract that means they have to do a certain amount of that per season.
Was this the case with season 5? She was literally in the entire fifth season. She was only absent in some episodes in Season 4 and 6.

they even did a Tara episode. Shouldnt she had been a regular by s5?

The fact that she made it clear that she made the choice not to be a series regular means that they (Joss and co) wanted her to be a series regular and she turned them down. If she had wanted to be a series regular at any time, all she had to do was telling Joss and co that she changed her mind, which she apparently didn't do until 'Seeing Red'.
Which is a shame it was her choice because she looked so gorgeous with the rest of the opening credits.

I agree - if Emma Caulfied was given a place in the opening credits, then Amber more than deserved a spot there, too. But if she made it clear that she didn't want to be a series regular, then there wasn't much anyone could have done about it.

Most shows have a budgetary quota of how many credited series regulars they can have at one time... because regulars have to get paid for every episode, whether they're in it or not.
