Posted this on the IMDB board but theres more actvivty here, just thought i'd share something i noticed last night.

Was just watching this ep last night and noticed something i had never seen before, just wanted to point out as i think its kind of funny.

In why we fight, its around the 25-28 min mark, and the exact part of dialogue is:

LAWSON
Was sind das fuer Papiere? Ich werde ihn nicht aufhalten koennen. Was sind das fuer Papiere?

GERMAN
Nachforschungen.

LAWSON
He says it's research.

SPIKE
What kind?

LAWSON
Was fuer Nachforschungen?

GERMAN
Intra-Gehirn Anregung und Macht ueber Sub-Damonen. Genauer: Vampire.

SPIKE
What about vampires?

LAWSON
I don't know. It's technical.
(grabs the report, leafs through it)
Something about stimulation and... control. They've been experimenting on them... and cutting into their brains.

SPIKE
That what got the Prince's coronet in a twist, isn't it? Found out you were gonna pop our tops and melon-ball us.

LAWSON
They're trying to create an army... out of things like you.

SPIKE
(looks at Angel)
That explains why they nicked us. Cream of the crop. Wanna build an army of vampire slaves, you start at the top"”with the generals.

When you listen to the bolded part, watch Angel in the background as he is listening to spike say it, when Spike says the word generals for some reason DB in the background has a 1 second smile and then goes back to serious again.

Don't know if its a goof or not but i thought it was pretty funny when i saw it.

I've noticed that when I first watched this episode...It doesn't fit there of course but it's just cute to see David smile. He's been laughing during serious scenes throughout the entire show....SOOOO cute

I don't think it's a goof, it might be, I just think DB is playing it as if Angel finds it funny that Spike would consider himself a "general" or "the cream of the crop", could be wrong though. What's more interesting is Lawson's next line, "Only you & your Fuhrer could come up with something that sick", because we all know who's government actually put chips in vampire's heads & tried to create a demon army. Angel gets "hired" for this mission by an agent of the Demon Research Initiative, I underlined the last word because again we all know the last place the word Initiative appeared in the 'verse. Guess the US govt got that idea from the Nazis. This all feeds in to Joss's most recent work (Serenity, Dollhouse) which is all centred around mind control & population manipulation by governments, corporations & the media.
