Why won't it die?

I've given up all hope and now I just want my freakin pet to die, but oh no the bugger keeps showing up. I mean in real life if you really are bored with them you can drown them or put em out into the forest or adopt them to some kind of adoption centre. Now I really would like to do at least one of those things, can't bother with the pet anymore, so how do I delete it?
