There are people out there who won't watch Tru Calling because they say they are "faithful to Faith". They think that if Tru Calling is cancelled that Eliza will make the Faith spin-off. What is wrong with them? Eliza did what she wanted to. If she had wanted to make the Faith spin-off, she would have made it. Instead she chose Tru Calling and I am very glad she did. Some people can be so ignorant. 😡
 
yeah she was awesome as Faith but let the girl move on into new things give the show a chance 🙁
 
Having never watched Eliza in Buffy (showing my ignorance of BTVS) I still love watching Eliza. She has done great in every part she has ever tried! She knew what she was getting into with Tru Calling and I think she wanted to grow out of Faith. Time to grow to bigger and better things.

Yea i do think that is stupid....people would boycott her new show because they want her to make a different one....if they were really fans they would respect her decision to do this show...and they would support it.
 
As much as I loved Eliza as Faith (and I really do) I want her to move on.. it's bad for an actress to stick to a surten role you will be labeled if that happens.. she is still young and should play many different characters being the great actress that she is 🙂

You basically summed it up with that one there 🙂

I can completely understand why she would opt to do something knew, as being known for 'Faith' all the type would typecast her. So many people refer to SMG as Buffy so you can imagine what that feels like.
 
I completely agree. My friend is doing that and I tried conviceing her to watch it atleast once but no. She claims that really Faith fans will not watch her show.And that she hopes it does bad so that Eliza will return to Faith. I told her she already made her choice and it was a great choice.It's just unbelievable.
 
Glad to see that i'm not alone in thinking that its absurd that people are doing this. Surely its a good thing that she is branching out and trying something new.

I adored Faith! My fave tv/movie character of all time, in fact. I wanted a Faith Spin-off as much as anybody could. Maybe more because I'm a little psycho like that.

But "faithful to Faith"? That's completely immature. What, did they want Eliza to play the same role forever!? Honestly, I REALLY REALLY wanted more Faith. But, I'm so glad Eliza chose Tru Calling. I love the show! I love how different her character is from Faith. I'm almost positive that's exactly why she chose it. And I couldn't be happier she did.

Now IF Tru were to be cancelled and THEN Eliza wanted to play Faith again, I'd be all for it, of course. I'd watch religiously.

But boycotting Tru because it isn't Faith? As a Faith fanatic, I almost, sort of get it, but then I don't. : scratch Damnit, it's still Eliza!

Maybe I'm just seeing this through my "faithful to Eliza," rose-colored, "she can do no wrong" glasses.
 
I absolutely LOVED Faith on BtVS, and hey, I wouldn't have complained if Eliza had signed on to do a FtVS series, but the fact remains, Tru was a great choice for her to make. It gives her a chance to get out and show what she's got, flex her acting muscles so to speak, cuz she's much more than just Faith, and I think everyone here would agree with me on that one 😉
I think Tru Davies is a GREAT role for her, seems to really fit her. Go Eliza!

i was holding in there right with everyone else, knowing for a fact that if they wanted to make a spin off, it'd probably be about faith. mainly because, hey! most unexplorer character. (no, fic doesn't count because we're all too crazy to think out storylines that they'[d actually us). we didn't even find out her last name.

but when eliza announced she was doing tru? i was feeling two things all at the same time, in this order:

1) awww... no more faith. at least for now.
followed *imidiatly* by:
2) oh my god! eliza's own *show*?!?! *DUDE*!!!!

and then i proceeded to jump around my house, and then fall down because i was spinning at the same time.

...stop looking at me like that. i'm not five, i'm 21.

my best friend Andy was boycotting tru, you know, cause he wanted to see eliza in leather pretty much all the time. and then i tied him to a chair and made him watch the pilot?

i don't particularly have anything bad to say about those people who would like to stay 'faithful to faith', however, i would be bitterly dissapointed if tru was cancelled because alot of eliza fans (however misguided) refused to watch the show.

dude... faith's not gone and never forgotten. hello! that's what the dvd's are for...

That's stupid of ppl! They say that real Faith fans would do that? Yeah RIGHT! Real Faith fans would watch Eliza's show no matter what! This show is amazing and ppl need to realize that because if it gets cancelled b/c of them, ill be so mad i might have to hurt someone! Im really hoping Fox will give TC a chance so when next season roles around, it wont be up against Friends anymore and will hopefully captivate more viewers.

Would I rather see Eliza playing Faith on Angel or on a new Buffy spin-off? Absolutely. But she isn't, so I take my Eliza where I can find it. This is a good show and it's taken total control of it's time slot on my TV in a mere three weeks . Boycotting Tru Calling in the hope that it'll be cancelled and she'll go back to playing Faith isn't just stupid, it's selfish. I'll support my Buffy people in their new endeavors even though I would like to see Alyson, Eliza, ASH, etc. in their old roles.
 
I personally was never a big fan of Faith... (please don't flame me, lol) :x I was probably more of an Angel/us/Spike/Drusilla person myself, but that's another topic.

But I don't think I could ever boycott a show (or anything else) that someone I liked was doing. I mean, if you're a fan of the person, you should enjoy everything they do. Not that that always happen, but still. If you're an "obsessed fan" as some people are saying (about other people in this post), then they should really root her on in her new show.

Oh well. *shrugs* Let them do what they want and let the rest of us enjoy Eliza's new show. 😉
 
yeah that is pretty silliy to NOt watch a show cos of another show! besides, the days of Btvs is over 🙁 and i personally don't think there will be a Faith-spin off(and i'm not that for it! i like Faith as a recurring supporting char 😉)
 
If FOX is going to cancel a show, they will... there's nothing we can do besides watch it to stop them. I really was hoping "Faith" would be another Spin-Off of Buffy because I LOVED her in Buffy. Tru Calling is a great show and I watch it... I hope it stays on but if it IS cancelled... we can only hope it returns or Eliza moves on to a Buffy Spin-off.
 
if they really were 'faithful to faith" they would support the actress Eliza in whatever she chose to do without her there would not be faith in teh first place! The onyl way to really be "faithful to faith" is to suport Eliza in her new show!
