I just checked and in the list of recurring characters there is a link next to Kendra Young name. The link takes you to a site that quotes Joss saying that Kendra will be known as Kendra Young.

See, i'm not certain that this qualifies as a "quote" from Joss.

"According to Titan's Buffy The Vampire Slayer magazine, Faith and Kendra's surnames have been decided, and revealed.
Here is a quote from it:

So it's Faith LeHane and Kendra Young. So what do you think? Kendra's is alright but Faith's is going to get some getting used to.

It comes across to me as more of a second hand comment. I've seen him directly comment about Faith's surname but never about Kendra's. I've no doubt that this was the name given for use in the sourcebook but whether that will translate to what we see onscreen (assuming we ever do) is a different matter. Especially going back to the small detail that Kendra isn't even meant to have a surname, as far as the only canon information we have is concerned.

For now i would take Kendra Young with a pinch of salt, at least until somebody gets Joss to confirm or deny.
 
I agree the comment about Kendra last name is nothing more than second hand. Although all I heard about Faith last name was second hand as well. I added a comment on the Buffy discussion page on wikipedia raising that very point. Whoever put the link to why Kendra last name is Young needs to qualify source more.

Unfortunately he didn't make any mention of Kendra at the time so that is why i'm still a little dubious regarding her surname.
 
Thanks for the info guys. I love Wikipedia for general info, but for the nit-picky details I come here and ask questions. Someone always seems to know something.

In fact I'd like to offer something up on the name Lehane. Faith comes from the outskirts of Boston right? Most likely a working class to lower class neighbourhood. There's a novel that was made into a movie called Mystic River. I'm pretty sure both won a bunch of big awards. Both movie and book are well known. The story concerns a working to lower class neighbourhood on the outskirts of Boston. The novel is written by a guy name "Dennis Lehane"
 
Mystic River is such a brilliant, brutal, depressing movie. Very well-acted. Eliza would have fit in that movie/world very well, somewhere...she did really well a tiny role"”in that flick with De Niro"”City by the Sea. That whole Northeast, working-class thing...

EDIT: I just checked up on the Pratt thing, and they didn't list it. Argh. I mean, they have Angel's human name, and they just list Spike as William the Bloody and Hostile 17. He has a last name, DAMNIT.

The point of wikis is that anyone can edit it. Go in there and edit it into the article yourself.
 
Yes anyone can edit but you need to supply references. I just found out that wikipedia will be making a change to the anyone can contribute policy. Due to a couple of scandals that occur. Not sure what will be the change though perhaps will be making sure articles are backed up with references and each article is in the neutral view even more than already do.
 
I really hope that is the case! The Wikipedia is an amazing resource but it is open to a lot of abuse from people just altering entries for a joke, or even simply people posting incorrect information that others then take to be fact.

It will be good if they can implement some form of control, although the project is massive and it would be very difficult and time consuming to properly moderate every page.
 
Well I found out from cnet what wikipedia planning to change and frankly not anything don't already do. You have had to register to contribute an article for some time. They have a large staff each with certain parts of the wikipedia that they oversee. They check each new article that comes in.
 
Wasn't the old TVTome.com a Wiki? (Is it still Wiki as TV.com).They used to make mistakes all the time. I remember one time they gave a production date for the Ripper series.

Oh, and another question - do you have to use some sort of special software to qualify as a Wiki, or is it just anything with user input?
 
Well, I can't help with your comments and questions N4H. Wikipedia itself says it can either refer to the concept of open-source webediting or the software they use.

Anyway, what I'd like to comment on is the fact that because it's so massive it's harder to moderate. I think it's rather the other way around, because it is so massive, the number of members, and thus potential moderators, is equally massive, so unless you're looking into something in a small niché article, you can be pretty sure that enough people have seen it to ensure it contains corrrect information. And if in doubt you can always call upon the edit log and see if it didn't at an earlier point contain different information.
 
Exactly they have several moderators who check every new submission that comes in each day.

As for tvtome they had a lot of problems. Server problems and bandwidth slowdowns. However they had more promise before turning into tv.com part of cnet networks. The message boards is pathetic now. Many like myself have abandon that site.
 
Yeah, the size of the project really helps as far as trolls go.

Anyways, do you all know about tviv.org? It uses the wikipedia engine but is focused only on tv. Wikipedia doesn't like if too specific information is given about tv shows. So i think this is a good alternative to tvtome now that it's gone. And yeah, tv.com stinks. tviv.org is really new (only since august) so the depth of articles isn't quite there, but the more people go there and contribute the better it will be. I edit there, you should too!
 
Wikipedia doesn't particularly care how deep you go into stuff. I mean, the real intent is to share all the knowledge there is, so the more depth the better... there's just some bloated contributors who feel that topics don't deserve depth, but that's just the personal opinion of individuals.
