Do people think that the show Angel will Survive f the show Buffy ends this year. It has established itself as an independant show, but still do people think that this might even be the last seaon of Angel. I know that this question does not take into account the contract the actors signed, Ihave noidea how many years they signed on for.

At first I didn't even watch the show, but graduatly it grew and now I even like it better than Buffy, so hell yeah it'll stand on it's own two feet, although I'm still hopefull for BtVS continuing!

Angel not only draws from the Buffy demographic but from those who watch it because it's a darker, grittier show. I think that's promising.

Yeah, it's bound to outlast Buffy, but I doubt that it will have more seasons all together than Buffy. And I agree with Tyra. Angel is extremely darker than Buffy would ever get. I would think people would like Buffy more because of that, but I guess not. But if the show does last longer, it has Buffy to thank for that.

I think Angel is way better than buffy. So I really think ( and hope ) the show will survive!!!

Angel is indeed a better series nowadays and that is even proven since more people watch Angel than Buffy :O ... I'm not kidding!

Well it's "overall" and it was about last year, but then again, it might have something to do with Buffy changing networks!

If Joss whedon finally decides to get some relationship action into the show angel will most likely increase its ratings again.
I have said this before, but a leading man with no love interest is quite a turn off. I do not care too much for the puppy-love of Gunn and Fred and it isn't really what the audience is looking for.
angel being the "darker" show is necessary to keep it different from Buffy and a good solution. But darkness should not go along with loneliness and sadness.

No I agree, but
the whole Gunn/Fred puppy-love thing isn't going to last
and you're forgetting Wes' new found glory (Lilah). But Angel does have a love interest ... Cordy. But the main problem is he can never be perfectly happy, then again Joss doesn't like happy couples so that's no problem. And what about Gwen, she could become a love-interest ::drool::

Buffy and Angel rank the same on my list. but anyways i think and hope Angel will survive. It should because it is a totaly seperate show than Buffy, or at least thats the way i see it.

The question should really be, "Why would Angel not survive Buffy?" anybody have some theories on that one??

one reason could be that in my case at least i watch the show out of loyalty to Buffy. The last two seasons of it have really annoyed me, if the show doesn't get better i might even lose interest all together

Stormwolfe, do you call yourself a fan? even if it bored me to death I'd still watch it! (I haven't really got something else on my hands)

I guess i will laway watch it, i don't know, i LOVE Buffy and I guess that is where my loyalties will always be. But when the main character and the name sake of the show annoys you, i don't think it is worth it. I loved Broody cool Angel, I miss him *sigh*

I think that it will survive after Buffy. I started watching Angel because of Buffy, but this show has really stood its own ground. This season is really good. Most 4th seasons on a show are blah, but Angel has stepped up to the plate!!🙂 🙂

I think it will and should continue once Buffy's not on the air any more. I think Angel has always been my favorite of the two series.

I'd seen maybe 3 episodes of Buffy before Angel started. And then I saw the previews for the show and decied to check it out. At which point I was NOT watching Buffy regularly yet (just the 2 or 3 eps). It was about half way into Angel's 1str season, not quite maybe... probably shortly after Doyle's death on Angel, that I started watching Buffy regularly also.

So, it was actually because of Angel that I really got into Buffy. So I certainly will keep watching Angel after Buffy's over.

I suppose for those who started with Angel it would be a different thing. I just miss 1st season Angel. It was great, after that it is my stron belief that it went downhill.

I agree S1 Angel was great, but it just didn't have enough characters. The show, IMO, has grown and gotten a lot stronger and better! Maybe some people aren't satisfied because there hasn't been any crossevers since the first season. If Buffy ends, and they add some characters to Angel, I'd say their chances of survival will be much higher.
