Will "Daredevil" Crossover with SHIELD?

Now that we know Marvel/Disney is adding a Daredevil show to their roster, might SHIELD be a presence in his series?

SHIELD only has a small number of people in it, and the Defenders series have been pitched as street level super heroes, whereas the Avengers and movies heroes are the big guns.

I'd say the netflix heroes will go unnoticed for a while.

We know the Netflix shows are in the same verse, and AoS and Agent Carter are directly tied to movies, it would be odd to leave the Netflix shows out there by themselves.

But becasue they are the "small" heroes, I could see them each having their own show then in the group show someone from SHIELD being incorporated.

Never heard of Defenders before, but I LOVE that idea. As [MENTION=12614]thetopher[/MENTION] will likely agree, Green Arrow was the standout character towards the end of the DCAU. What was so great about his portrayal in there was he was not physically remarkable.

In the DCAU, Green Arrow was the first to say he is made to go up against street thugs--his fighting abilities were extremely good for a normal guy, but he'd get picked apart by any of the master martial artists. He was an interesting answer to Batman who while biologically unremarkable, was entirely capable of going up against most any opponent. I would love if Daredevil was a Green Arrow-type.

A very high-level blogger, who interviews A-list actors, and has a relationship with the studios, said he thinks there's a 0% chance any of the Marvel Netflix will share the Marvel Cinematic Universe if they go forward with R/18/MA content.

He says there's no way the MCU would risk a tonal-variation in their universe, especially for a Netflix series. What do you think?

As I've heard the Defenders will be made up of four superheroes who will all get their own 'establishing' series before all joining up together, which sounds like a great idea.

I think the Defenders are going to be: Daredevil, Power Man, Iron Fist and...somebody else, I can't remember.
Although I shallowly hope its a hot chick. Spider-Woman maybe? Or Black Cat? That could work.

And yes, I did very much like DCU's Green Arrow in the comics and the cartoon, where they went out of their way to make him different from Batman, the way he thought and fights was a nice contrast.
Although I'm pretty certain my favourite DCU character is Black Canary, 'cause like Spider-Man she had that believable 'street-level' feel but can also slip into 'Justice League' mode. 🙂

Yeah defenders will be Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones who each get their own series then team up.

What they haven't confirmed is when the shows take place, so we don't know if they're pre/post avengers. Old school SHIELD might still be around, New SHIELD might be around, could be Same time as Agent Carter

Right now it seems like Marvel wants to keep their spinoff universes separate for the time being. I know AoS had Fury and Hill show up a couple times, but overall Joss's idea was to let it gain ground with very minimal contact with the Avengers or other MCU characters.

I think they'll probably let the Netflix shows be Netflix shows for at least the first season or so. It gives them time to establish their own universe without riding on the coat-tails of AoS, and it can find its own spotlight in the Marvel Universe. Knowing Marvel, they'll probably do some crossing over in the future, but they seem to like keeping that stuff to a minimum so they give the most airtime to the main characters.

This is all speculation, though.

SHIELD certainly keeps getting better. I find it funny that Iron Man is the flagship character of the franchise, yet Iron Man 2 & 3 were far weaker stories than 1, in my opinion.

Totally agree. While I think 3 was better than 2, overall that section is now the weakest part of the universe.
The main thing it has going for it is Downey being perfect, but the quality of the stories has declined while both Thor and Captain America got better with their second instalment.
And as you said SHIELD got much better as it went on.
