Rowling had stated many times that she doesn't want anyone to carry on Harry Potter Series after the seventh book. That is read by the majority of fans that Harry will be killed in the last (seventh) book. But the thing is, the book comes out at 7/7/07 whereas the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will open on July 13. If Harry dies, I don't think the 6th and 7th movies will be waited too enthusiasticly. I have a feeling that Rowling may surprise us with this. What do you think, will Harry die in the last book?

No way, I always took that to mean she was going to fill in all the blanks, like Harry wen't on to marry ron and adopted several babies while hermonie took to alcohol after looseing ron to harry - that kinda thing.

there is no way she can kil harry, he's the boy that lived.

the book comes out at 7/7/07
Noup, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been set to be released on Saturday, July 21st 2007 😀.

I think she's evil enough to kill him 😛... But I really hope he, somehow, ends up alive. Although that'd be a terrible thing for him too because if he survives, Hermione and Ron die. Joanne said she's gonna kill two of them. I wouldn't like to live if my best friends, godfather, parents and sort-of-daddy (Albus) were dead...

He'll be alive, but he will have no ability to do magic, or enter the magic world...he'll either be banished or his powers as a wizard removed permanently. Think Frodo having to leave Middle-Earth at the end of Lord of the Rings.

I think he'll do, just because it will be histerical if he does. All this big hype about him and that he's so cool, and then dead. It would make me laugh. I'm tired of the good guys always winning in the end.

I say Harry will die at the end.... I've thought that for quite a while now...

It's all very Jesus-style sacrifice for the greater good and epic. The epitome of heroism!!

You'll laugh because you don't like the books? I don't get where your coming from with your, well, brazen statement

I haven't read the books or watched the movies, but I love it when heroes die at the end. It doesn't happen as often as it should. It is an actual ending instead of just dropping his story at the end of a chapter in his life.

Yeah, or riding off into the sunset, never to be heard from again. It amounts to the same thing. I think Rowling will do one of the two in this case, seeing as she wants absolute control over her characters...

*evil laugh*

i say... YES harry potter will die...
harry potter isnt my fav. character
so id rather it be him than one of my fav characters.
but i think he will.. unfortuntely.

I dont think he will die. That is a cheesy way to go with the book, and rowling is way better than that. Though, I believe he is a horcrux...He will find a way to get rid of voldermort. I used to base my theory on the prophecy, but as i'm sure many know, prophecies are usually very misunderstood.

Alright, so here's the ten things Harry will be doing in the book:

1. Shuffling off the Mortal Coil
2. Heading for the happy hunting ground
3. Blinking for an exceptionally long time
4. Finding himself without breath
5. Becoming the incredible decaying man
6. Kicking the bucket
7. Cashing in his chips
8. Buying the farm
9. Being worm buffet
10. Paying his debt to nature

Either both Voldemort and Harry die, like "simultaneously", or Harry doesn't die.
Fact is, she's joked enough about his possible death that it makes me think she ain't killing him. Like, you know, messing around with the fnas, creating threads upon threads on countless message boards about this very question.

It's worth taking a look at what Rowling actually said, I think.

“The final chapter is hidden away, although it’s now changed very slightly. One character got a reprieve. But I have to say two die that I didn’t intend to die,” she said. “A price has to be paid. We are dealing with pure evil here. They don’t target extras do they? They go for the main characters. Well, I do.”

For all I know that could mean Hagrid, and Mcgonagall.

Although Rowling did also say...

“I have never been tempted to kill him off before the final because I’ve always planned seven books, and I want to finish on seven books,”

and

“I can completely understand, however, the mentality of an author who thinks, ‘Well, I’m gonna kill them off because that means there can be no non-author-written sequels. So it will end with me, and after I’m dead and gone they won’t be able to bring back the character’.”

Nevertheless I voted no.

I think he might... I am a sytherin fan through and through but i belive that there is two possible out comes....
one voldemort is defeated and harry marries Ginny 8if she is alive) and they live happily ever after or
two Harry and Voldemort dies and everyone runs around and are depressed.
thinking about it there could be a thid outcome¨
harry and/or voldemort loses their magic and there for is no longer them and goes int hiding in the muggel world....
I'm probably way of track but that is my belivef right at this sec....
