Question Will Joss Resurrect Wesley?

I hope Joss doesn't bring Wes back from the dead, though it would be nice to have some better closure brought to the character; maybe his soul being freed or whatnot.

I haven't read the Angel comics but can anyone tell me if there's any reason for why he's bound to Wolfram and Hart beyond the standard perpetuity clause bit? The thought that anyone in Angel Investigations would actually sign something like that always struck me as a really poor excuse to keep the character in the story after he was killed off. The "no strings attached" deal they were all offered sure as hell seems like it had a few strings if you had to sign your soul to them upfront.
 
they wouldn't have to really resurect wesley he is in spirit form in a way alive. he's a slave to wolf fram and hart. Why? someone asked above because his contract wasn't up. kinda like in the beginning of Angel when the first dude of wolf fram & hart died he still appeared on that elevator with Angel and told him even though his contract wasn't up he still owed his time to wolf fram & hart, so i see why they same applied for wesley.

I would love to see him mentioned again in Buffy, that would be way cool!!!!!!

I don't really see how the same applied to Wesley. Both Holland and Lilah were both full fledged subordinates of the senior partners; they worked for them so they signed standard contracts to do so. Wesley (and all of Team Angel) were supposedly given a no strings attached offer to run the L.A. branch of Wolfram and Hart. I don't know about anyone else but signing away your soul sure seems like a pretty big string that none of the characters would have agreed to. Wesley was not a standard employee; he was offered the chance to run a department in W&H with no caveats. He more so than anyone else (except maybe Angel), knew about the perpetuity clause and would never have even been tempted by W&H's offer if it meant his soul. Shoot, he'd also try to dissuade everyone else from signing as well. Don't forget that in season 5, the only string involved with them taking over W&H was that if they don't compromise some of their morals and do a little business, the branch would go under and they'd lose their resource.

Not the mention that it also means that the senior partners own the souls of every Team Angel member, including Angel. To me, it seems like a gigantic plot hole that they put in just so Wesley would still be in the series and ticks me off because he's probably my favorite character.

I think maybe I can clear this up; if I recall correctly in the After the Fall: First Night series; it's shown that Wesley is in the ether shortly after his death. He is approached by the senior partners and agrees to be their voice in L.A. because they claim being able to restore Fred. I don't have the issue though so someone else would have to confirm.

Yes she is dead. But someday she shall come back to life, kick the shit out of Angel for being such a dumbass(as usual) in s8, and end up having many Cangel babies with him(right after he shanshu'ed). 😉

At least, that is my hopeless dream. 🙁

Then maybe they shouldn't be reading threads in a forum titled "Season 9". And again, should we edit thread titles dealing with Tara's death, Anya's death, Spike's death, etc, etc?

Besides, in #9 of A: ATF Illyria salvages Wesley's body and keeps it to herself. It wasn't mentioned again since #9, but maybe it will be used later.
 
Yeah, if you're reading the comics that take place way after ANGEL, you're going to get spoiled anyways. It's just how it is. Same thing with watching Buffy and not watching ANGEL. I'm sure a few things got spoiled. We can't spoiler mark the whole board just because someone hasn't watched something!

Besides it aired like five or six years ago...

It would be too predictable. As much as I hated his death, I don't want to see Joss pulling that trump card again. Dream sequences and visions are still free reign, of course.
 
I've only read 1 or 2 comics are Buffy and Angel After The Fall, but I really hope Wesley isn't ressurected. As much I loved him, he's with Fred and Lilah now 🙂 and his death didn't bug me that much. And if anyone should be ressurected, it's Cordy.

But I don't get if he's dead-dead yet. His soul is in the ether, whatever that means? I mean, if a character's soul/spirit has not gone to their "final resting place" (again, whatever that means), & they're wandering around, then I guess it's OK for that character to appear. Does Cordy appear in the Angel comics?

See, Tara & Joyce never appear again, not in the TV series nor the comics, so bringing them back would not be a good idea. Willow/Joss had a chance to bring Tara "back" as a spirit guide, but Willow chose against it (thankfully). Some characters I don't mind being brought back, some I do. It just depends. But I do agree that it's an overused plot device.
 
He probably won't get resurrected, which provides good closure for Wesley, albeit sad closure. Though - I wouldn't mind seeing a different former Watcher with a badass streak joining Angel's crew. *hint hint*

Not to mention what Willow's reaction would be like. They might, even, horrors of horrors - GET MARRIED AND HAVE A BABY! :lmao:
