Will Spike be the new Angel?

No. Angel is better because he wants redemption for his demon's past sins. Spike has had that chip in his head for almost two years and it gave him some conscience and he still acted the way he acted. Besides he doesn't have that clause so it doesn't make you want to pity him.

here's a thought. Maybe Angel should go to that demon and have his soul put in him that way so he and Buffy could be together!
 
despite spike getting his soul back, they are two different people (spike and angel) and therefore two different ways of dealing with this. naw, i don't think spike is the next angel. 😉
 
I don't think so. Like hotaru anne said, they're two different people. They're going to deal with the situation differently. I don't know if Spike is going to be as Angel was about the reflecting and angst. I don't see Spike angsting. Well, not Angel angsting. I'm actually not sure how he'll deal with it. But that's what next season is for, right? 🙂
 
i agree with the concept of spike being the replacement angel wes, but i think they will approach it in a totally different way i honestly can't imagine spike brooding!!!

I don't think he'll be the same. I think he is going to be evil again, back to the Big Bad he used to be. I for one will be happy, spike is good at any role, but he was great evil. 😀
 
I just wanted to know. When Spike got his soul, did they ever remove his chip? Because if they didn't, Spike would never be able to physically harm anyone without feeling pain - physical or otherwise. And in turn, he could never be evil.
 
I don't believe there will ever be a replacement for Angel-(is there ever a replacement for any first love?)

I thought Spike didn´t want to get his soul back. He wanted to get the chip out and nothing else so lets be surprised.
 
No, Spike could never replace Angel in Buffy's heart. I like Buffy and Spike as a couple, but Spike could never be the new Angel.
