I had came across a recent debate over the circumstances behind William (aka Spike)'s human background.

Some believe that Cecily's comment to him in "Fool For Love" indicated that William came from a lower class. That he was probably lower class.

Others, like myself, believe that William, like Cecily, was also part of the upper-class. And that her real opposition to him as a mate was due to her contempt for his less-than-manly persona and his reputation as a "brain" and a bad poet.

What do you think?

I totally agree with you LadyLavinia, I think he was the same class as Cecily and her coment was reffering to his personality.

I concur.

He was at the same "social" gathering as she was, wasn't wearing rags or anything, and seemed relatively well educated.

Yes, I am leaning toward that idea. I just saw the epp where they introduce his past. I think that is why it crushed him all that much more.

He was in the same class as Cecily but like 1,000,000,000 times better than that @#*% !!! I hate her...

I too agree! I think he was in the same class as Cecily. And I believe that more a personn is good, and do good things in his life, more he is bad, if he becomes a vampire... It's why William ( alias Spike) is so self-conscious and sad when he's alive, and becomes a very powerful vampire...
What do U think about it?

i think she was talking about his personality....i also think he was in the same class as cecily.or maybe in the middle class,dunno,...i'm sure he wasn't poor, did you guys see his house?!

note:halfrek and cecily are the same person, right?
