Re #33:
I STRONGLY agree. As many of you guys know, my top 2 recommendations/criticisms were the need for an explanation of the change in vamp physiology. And the need to retcon Armstrong's abysmal arc about actual angels working for TPTB. Both of these things were well accomplished in #33.
Everyone was out-of-character in #34, because that ended up being the premise. The shining moments of #34 were the Spike & Gunn monologues. Both were the best we've seen from the characters in this pseudo-canon series. For not being written by the Mutant Enemy team or Brian Lynch, those two monologues were superb.
The issue itself is okay if you don't take it seriously. It's written very much in the tone of "The Zeppo" and "Sense & Sensitivity." Through that spectrum it's kind of fun, but I wouldn't say great.
I maintain that Eddie Hope is the #1 new character from any Buffyverse comic.
Definately the best issue yet, the dialogue is still a bit off on some characters but much better than previous issues, and the whole deal with vamp parts dusting and then regrowing is being explained which is great. Storyline's great, and if he keeps up the improvement on the dialogue we will have some fantastic stories very soon.
