This may be an unpopular opinion, but I have to say that much as I liked Tara, I loved Willow's relationship with Oz so much more. It may have been 'puppy love', at least for Willow, since she was younger and less experienced, perhaps, but from the beginning, I always felt their relationship was so sweet. Maybe that's the old romantic in me. It also may have something to do with the fact that Seth Green bears a striking resemblance to a guy I was madly in unrequited love with for years... *ahem*

Anyway, from the moment Oz glimpsed Willow in her adorable Eskimo outfit -'Who IS that girl?'-I always rooted for them. Thoughts? 🙂

Actually I think it's pretty divided in the middle, most people on this board seem to prefer Oz over Tara. I personally like Tara much more, but I also do like Oz a lot. Woz was a nice representation of a highschool relationship. To me it was never really meant to last, but I have no doubts that they were right for each other at the time being.

I too liked both relationships. Personally I found Tara the more interesting character out of her and Oz and her and Willow really did click. But Oz was good for her two and they had a lot of sweet moments. Guess there were just too many issues for them to over come.

I'm not really big on ships, I just look at the relationships for what they are or could have been (or I try too).

I think those pairings are the rare ones I'd say: I love them both.

And I think both those relationships were great, and quite realistic.
Oz was perfect for Willow for the high school years, and then they grew apart, it happens. I always rooted for them.

AS of Tara, she's one of my fav character, and I think she gave Willow a lot. There's not a single time I disagree with her character.
Yeah both those relationships were good for the time they lasted. I wouldn't change a thing (well, yeah. I'd change Tara's dying).

(I would change a lot of Willow and Kennedy though).

Kennedy needs to be retroactively erased. But Frillow - I want!
Yeah Willow-Kennedy was a huge mistake. After Tara I just think Willow should have stayed single for that season. Not to mention that I was never convinced of their love.

Thanks so much for the feedback so far folks, I really liked Tara and always felt that Amber and Alysson had terrific chemistry, I just had a preference for Willow and Oz... Woz. Never heard that one. 😉

I like them both. Actually, I think I like all of Willow's major lovers, I mean, yeah, Kennedy is...well, Kennedy but as Willow's girlfriend, she's pretty alright in my opinion and Aluwyn is a giant snake with boobs and I like her because...because she's a giant snake with boobs, I mean, what more can you ask for?

Found Kennedy annoying, it just felt forced how forward she was, but unlike a character like Faith it was not done in an interesting way where there was lots of layers to her. Just never believed that she was good enough for Willow or even that interesting.

I couldn't stand Kennedy, she was super annoying and just didn't seem to suit Willow at all.

Poor Kennedy getting a bad rep. I love Kennedy

I like Kennedy...

I don't have any preference here, but I think that Oz was just her first love, puppy love, and it was quite natural she left it behind - while keeping nice feelings about Oz and their time together. But Tara was the one she loved, the one she would stay, if not forever (I really don't believe in forever these days), for a long time, and buil something strong - they were living together, already, and kind of raising Dawn.

I love Oz, but he had nowhere to go in the series. Their was no reason for him to exist except for the fact that he was great for Willow. He seemed to have no inner conflicts until Veruca, and that easily settled in one episode. So even though he was great for Willow and one of the best characters, I can't see him staying.

Tara, OTH, had so much to give, so much caring and wisdom, and she had her own issues and her own need to grow. Even if she lacked the laconic wit, she had more depth. I thought she brought more to the show, to the scoobs, and to Willow.

I really liked Willow and Oz; the first time through, I found Tara incredibly boring. But now that I adore Amber, I like Willow & Tara much more. And they did get better as time went on. But I still like Oz, and the way he liked her just the way she was, magick or no.

Who could hate Amber, part of my love for Tara is because Amber Benson is just so lovely

I think they could have expended his story with Veruca to a full season arc (as it was initially planned I believe), but aside from that I agree. Oz sort of had an expiration date, I think he would have done best maybe on Angel far away from the Scooby gang. The Scoobies just sort of have this dynamic where new addition never really seem to fit into the group properly. But I would have wanted to see the original plan for his s4 storyline though, it could have been really interesting to have more of a focus on the werewolf, and not just on Woz.
