What does everyone think about Willow and Xander's almost kiss in the beginning of "When She Was Bad"?

I always found it odd that they gave each other those looks which, to me, indicated they were starting to see each other in a different way (at least Xander was) and they would have kissed had it not been for the vampire showing up. Yet after that, the two of them act like nothing happened at all. I originally thought more would come from it than that, at least that Willow would say something, and that the two of them might have become a couple in season 2 or at least would have explored their feelings for each other, instead of them having an "awakening" in season 3.

To me, everything about Willow and Xander's romantic relationship was incredibly forced. From that moment in 'When She Was Bad' until Cordelia and Oz walked in on them in 'Lover's Walk', everything just did not ring true to me, and I found the whole thing completely unbelievable.

Xander and Willow are good as friends and they have that chemistry to back that up. But anything more than that? Sorry, but I don't buy it at all.

But not only that, their whole so-called 'sexual chemistry' disappeared completely after 'Lover's Walk'. If they were really so attracted to each other that they completely neglected their significant others to sneak around together, that should not have just magically vanished unless it was, you know, magically vanished, which is wasn't, because Willow never finished her spell.

I was never on the bandwagon for any of the main Scoobs to get together - I'm even still iffy on the whole
Xander/Dawn
thing. So when they started that whole Xander/Willow thing, I wasn't really all that enthusiastic about it. In fact, I hated the whole storyline.

I thought it was kinda cute. We knew Willow had a crush on Xander and since Buffy was gone that summer it was just the two of them hanging out; I could see some sort of feelings developing on Xander's end.

I do think a kiss between the two of them would have been better in 'When She Was Bad' rather than down the line in 'Lover's Walk'. The whole uncontrollable attraction between Willow and Xander when they both had significant others they were happy about didn't ring true at all.
