Willow and Xander - The romance

Do you wish Willow/Xander would have happened?

In early season 3, Xander/Willow start showing feelings for each other romantically, so if Oz and Cordelia werent with Willow and Xander; would you had wanted Xillow ship to happen?

I would have. I actually seem to be one of the few who was really rooting for them. I've always thought of Xander and Willow as soul mates, and more than in just a romantic sense. They've always seemed perfect for each other.
 
I really wish we would have gotten to see more of a romance between them. I rooted for them from the time I started watching the show, and I would have loved to see what they were like together without Cordy and Oz in the picture.
 
I was rooting for Willow/Xander in S7.

As for the original question, I think Willow was still deeply infatuated with Xander even after she got with Oz (as much as that pains me to say it). Now that I think about it, I don't ever remember Oz or Willow telling each other that they love one another until the very end...

Anyways, but yes I agree with Darla that for Xander, it was totally about wanting what he couldn't have. For Willow it was about finally having feelings returned when you've carried them for however many years she'd been carrying them. Though I think Willow was beginning to REALLY fall for Oz in the middle of her tryst with Xander which is why she wanted the feelings to go away.
 
The chemistry between them was so good that I was hoping they would get together to see where it would lead their characters. After the teaser in 'When She Was Bad' it looked inevitable, yet we were so cruelly denied 🙂
 
I just can't get behind this 'ship at all. At least not in a romantic sense. Any S3 Xillow interaction makes me cringe. It's so awkward. I saw no chemistry between them. But that's just my opinion.

You know, I kind of noticed that too...like with the S3 opener when Xander licked the ice cream off of Willow's nose (I think that was S3), I saw chemistry. Seasons 5, 6 and 7 when they had Willow comment on something Xander said or when Willow was crying over Xander in the hospital? I saw chemistry. However, when they were forced together, there was no chemistry.

It was...strange. It was like The New Adventures of Superman and Lois and Clark finally got together and then...nothing.
 
It's normal when you're the age they were to have thoughts about what it would be like but I'm so glad it never went beyond their kissing because it was just wrong. They are best friends for life, like brother & sister, it just didn't work for me but I understood how they felt. But I was very glad they got past it.
