willow has always been my favourite character, and the writers have always been exploring different aspects of her, and she did rightly become more confident as she got older but i don't think the "don't mess with me or you'll pay" attitude is really like her, she's too sweet for that! i think its more that she's addicted to the feel of magic, rather than a power trip. When she went to Rack it was just to get high not to have power. Anyway, she has always been great, just different
