Willow/Dawn

Dawn is one of my favourite characters (see fanfic), but I thought that scene was awesome. I don't remember there being actual tears, but for me it opened the door to fabulous plot bunnies. What if she'd actually gone through with it? Would we have seen the "Buffinator" again without a pep talk? What if Willow'd had to turn Dawn back afterwards? Would it have opened another can of Key-related goodness?

Aah. Good times.

How's that? Does whiny Dawn make for a better storyline for her?

I liked S7 Dawn. By the end of the season, she knew and accepted her position in the group and acted mature about it.

As for her being picked on by Willow, I felt it was really harsh although Willow was right. Perhaps it was a nod to those viewers who disliked how much Dawn whined since she was first introduced to the show?

I agree. I liked her better in the last season as well. I felt for Dawn though, I could relate to her. I was a lot like her at that age. I thought she was a sweet character, although I'm not sure about what they're doing with her in S8. She seems sort of out of place and useless.

I agree with those of you who disliked Willow's treatment of Dawn. Willow was kind of like an older sister to Dawn, especially when she and Tara took care of Dawn after Buffy's death. For Dark Willow to take revenge on Warren or even to take on her peers (like Buffy) or authority figures (Giles) falls into one category. For Dark Willow to deal so harshly with someone she was supposed to nurture and protect took things to another level. Willow had lost herself. This wasn't merely grieving or angry Willow, this was evil Willow, and that's scary.

I didn't enjoy the scene or think that Dawn deserved that kind of treatment, but I did like what it said about how far Willow had gone.

^^Right! and for me, seeing willow, THIS Willow

Behaving that was was truly terrifying.

Willow did nurture Dawn and was very good to her. Then Willow got sick, addicted to magic. In Wrecked, she almost killed herself and Dawn in that car crash. I was almost in tears when Buffy was scolding Willow for that. Willow was in pain from remorse, and of hurting her best friend, Buffy. What does Dawn do? She slaps Willow's face.

Dawn slapped the person who was almost like a mother to her. Of course that was when Willow was well. But do we treat our sick family members that way?

Therefore when Dark Willow threatened Dawn, I just thought, well, payback time. And I thought she was much better in season 7, until Empty Places. And she was back to being a ball of nonsense in my book.

I was LMAO when Dark Willow called Dawn whiny. :lmao:

And when she said that Buffy needed every square inch of her a$$ kicked.
