A while ago, when I did a "Improving Season 4" thread, one of the people responding to my thread mentioned the idea of having Willow, Oz, and Tara together as a romantic unit instead of Willow/Oz or Willow/ Tara. What would that have been like if it had actually happened on the show? How would Buffy and the others react to that kind of relationship? And how would Willow and Oz deal with Tara's death in Season 6?

Considering Oz reacts now to negative stimuli instead of the moon, I'd think it'd be a whole lot bloodier.

Either that, or Oz would try to keep Willow from losing it as I don't see Oz and Tara getting much closer than best friends who happen to share a girlfriend.

But I like the witch/werewolf combo, teaming up and terrorizing Sunnydale.

One, I don't think Oz would have been okay with that, judging by the events in season three. Two, I don't think Tara would have been okay with that, judging by how shy she was in season four. Or, she wouldn't have grown as much as a character. Her dependence on Willow really changed her character and caused her to be a lot stronger.

I don't think they would have terrorized Sunnydale.

Uh, I didn't mean like "Hey Oz, it's Monday. Let's terrorize some innocents for the heck of it" I meant if Tara died, Willow and Oz would probably do that. Willow practically did terrorize Sunnydale by trying to bring about the end of the world. I don't think I'm that far off thinking that a Witch/Werewolf team would terrorize Sunnydale if they were in a polyamorous relationship.

Also, we can't count Oz's reaction in Season 3 because that wasn't something they talked about. Cheating exists in polyamorous relationships if the parties haven't all discussed bringing in the new person into the fold. I think if they all sat down and discussed it, it might have worked out. Tara wouldn't have to do do anything with Oz, they'd both have to just be okay with sharing Willow.

I just don't think he'd be open to it, is all. He got super jealous of Tara when he came back in New Moon Rising.

I don't know about Oz but I am sure Xander would have loved the idea of threesome. 🙂

Agreed with most people in this thread so far. Oz would have totally been opposed to the idea. Even now that only negative influences trigger his wolfyness, I don't think it would have happened. He was super jealous that He could smell Willow on Tara. Having to share Willow with anyone, well, it wouldn't have helped his case. Also, what about Tara? We all know that Tara would have done anything for Willow during the start of their relationship. Then we see her getting upset and breaking it off with Willow for using magicks. I think that if it had happened, it would have just ended in disaster. Tara would have broken it off if Oz didn't. Tara maybe be easy to abuse at first, but she would have eventually realized what was going on.

Perhaps, if it did happen, both Oz and Tara would have dropped Willow, and they would have dated each other instead 😛

I don't think that Oz and Tara would ever have got on that well. Tara was quiet and didn't have any confidence. Oz was fairly quiet and had confidence. You might think that they would get on, but I don't. I think a conversation with them would just be awkward and they would not see eye to eye about Willow. I think that Tara wouldn't have grown like she did, and would probably have walked away from Willow. When Willow had to choose Tara or Oz, I think she made the right decision. 🙂
