Willow's "Coming Out"

It was good for Will and she was really happy with Tara..I don't care if the character that I like is gay or not..It must be first of all interesting...
 
Has anyone noticed that maybe the writers wanted Willow to be gay all along because in S1 she said she couldnt talk to boys easily. I dunno, It's probably just me. 😛
 
That probably just had to do with her being shy. Joss did want to turn someone gay from the start. Initially he wanted it to be Xander, but in s3 he decided it should be Willow, which is clear with all the foreshadowing.
 
I think if they made Xander gay, so many more complaints would of been heard off.

I would have complained because I like him and Anya together. They should have gotten married.
 
well first of all let me make this disclaimer, i AM gay,

I liked Willow and Tara for their relationship, and I loved Tara for her empathy. But I had a hard time indentifying with it. Here's why, it is my opinion, (and also my experience), that you don't just "turn" gay. While there are people out there who genuinly are attracted to both sex's, and granting the fact that not everyone is the same, for the most part there is very little grey area. When Marti Noxon, says that Oz's leaving triggered her gayness, that's unrealistic to me. It's not like a guy walks down the street one day and see's a beautiful woman......."wow she's hot!" ..............."HEYYYYYYYYYYY let me to her hair and nails!" It doesn't work that way. I'm not saying that she couldn't have been gay all along, but stuff like that is a part of you, it's not something you decide to get into. She and Oz had a DAMN convincing Relationship!!!! And although I liked Willow and Tara better, I always thought they should have made her bi, instead of making it clear cut and straight one day, then oh, Hello there Tara, Gay now.

Does that make sense to anyone, or am I just rambling again?

Nope, no rambling here, I have always thought Wiilow was bi.
I sort of get what you are saying. I, too, think it would have made more sense if Willow were bi. But I believe it is something you choose, not something you're born with. But I don't have the personal experience, so your opinion is much more valid than mine on this.

Oh, and if they had made Xander gay, people would have thrown a riot. It's pretty ironic that people are more excepting of lesbian couples than they are of gay male couples.
 
it's because two women kissing, is so much sexier, than two men kissing, besides. Girls who are friends are very affectionate with each other, maybe not lesbian affectionate, but it still softens it for people who are not as open to seeing things like that....

And FE 007, I don't ness. disagree withyou. I don't know if people are born homosexual, But I don't think it's a choice. You can't help how you feel, you CAN help what you do. And I can say I never Chose to feel this way.... It's just the only thing I can remember, regardless of how it came about.

I can! Him going smoochy with Andrew, yup, I can picture that. I'd be nice, poor Anya can come to me for comfort!

Willow's 'coming out' wasn't a shock for me as it was really nicely done...
 
it wasn't so much a coming out, they kinda snuck it in there. first she met Tara then like three or four eps later, taras says " I am you know, yours". And you don't really get the full effect of it until towards the end of the show
 
I think it was probably hard for die hard Willow/Oz shippers for Willow's change. (although I think the writers tried to lessen that shock by Oz cheating on her and having their relationship on the rocks.)

I did not bother me. Personally I liked Tara much more than Oz. It was a sad day when Tara died! Those big jerks.
 
BtVS is a show where it's alll right to see a lesbian kiss onscreen and even though it's a very controversial matter, I like that Joss handles it well. A male/male kiss might cause a lot of uproar, though...
 
Maybe "choose" was the wrong word. I just think that it's something that develops, for different reasons for everyone. I don't think you are automatically born one way or the other.
