Willow's return to Sunnydale

[Chosen Enemy]

After Willow's frenzy in the end of season 6, she goes to England with Giles, to learn about magic or whatever, to help her. And in season 7 Giles decides that she goes back to Sunnydale a little earlier than what was planned. Willow didn't feel very ready to see her friends again. And we saw the results ("Same Times Same Place").

Do you think it was too early for her to return? Maybe she should have stayed in England longer?

Well nice question, but I think that Giles made a good decision! In fact I think Willow has much less self confidence to return by herself. She needed someone who says:"Hey they still want you I am sure, but you have tot find out by yourself. If not you will never find out!"
Giles did that. Willow needed that. The just needed to learn how to controll her magicall forces. She learned that and then Giles throw her into the cold water, becasue she needed to find her self confidence back. For me it was the right time for her!

I agree. I know Willow felt unsure, but I think most of that was because of her guilt over the things she had said and done as Dark Willow.

I don't think it really mattered when she returned because the guilt of what she had done would always be there, and i think that no matter how long she was away, she would have felt the same when she met her friends again,and the same events probably would have happened even if she came back later rather than sooner.

I agree--I think she would feel guilty and tentative no matter when she returned. But the brevity of her trip to England certainly made things a lot more uncertain and gave her insecurities a lot more credibility.

Honestly, if I were in the position of any of the scoobies, I don't think I would have been ready to see her that soon. So it's not at all surprising to me that she anticipated that her friends would feel this way.
