That is what I thought, too.

But I think Kindred made a valid point,"Being that it was, infact, a TV show". It is a TV show, and the standard for Wicca in the media is very low (IMO).

There is a site I go to, called WitchVox, and people were saying the same things. That unless one of the writers new a considerable amount of knowledge on Wicca, there was only so much to do. I just sort of wished they had more knowledge of it.

I agree, but while we're talking about the crappy job the people at ME have done portraying Wicca and magic, lets not forget to compare. Wouldn't you say that they at least attempted to show the deeper, religious side of things? Look at Charmed for example, I haven't watched that for at least three years so it may have changed, but from what I remember of it, all they had to do was "say the magic words" and everything was a'glowin' and a'movin'. ME portrayed it in a way that showed respect and veneration.
 
And you have to remember guys it just a story line. They obviously had someone doing research for the lines, but as far as the them calling her a wicca as she continued to use the dark magic, that is just how it came out. I don't think that they even gave a second thought to it offending practitioners. They just did it to make the story. And as far as the veins and such go, it would have looked rediculous on television to have a girl looking absolutely normal going about saying words arms out like a looney, and haveing things happen. That might be how it works for practitioners, but it would look stupid on tv. That is that and if any one has any farther argument towards the subject feel free to post your concers, or just agree to disagree.

Yeah, I know. Out of all the Wiccan references, this was by far the most in depth and accurate. I'm just picky. 🙂
 
Ok ok People, Lets get some things straight that I have seen flawed in this thread 😀
First of all, In a Wiccans point of veiw (And yes, I have been a Wiccan and practice magick for about 3 or 4 years now, So I think I know what I'm talking about ::blush:🙂 there is no 'Black Magick' of 'Good magick'. Magick is not good nor evil, it is simply just there. However someone who is using magick, can use it for dark purpose's but that does not make the magick 'Black' or 'Dark' it is still magick, just manipulated by the user. Same goes for 'Good Magick'.

And ofcourse the writers are going to warp the visions of Wicca and being Wiccan, it is a show and they do need their veiwers. So in my opion the writers wanted to spice the show up a bit, and warped Wicca and Magick in general. In my opion, I'm not bothered by it. I refer to Willow as a Sourceress and things along those lines. But yes, It is alittle annoying how they referred to her a 'The most powerful Wicca' and such. But I'm not really bothered by it, its just a show and they do it to get ratings 😀
