Anyone got one? I've been eyeing and wanting one for awhile. But I am hesitant to pull the trigger. I dont really use a phone for anything but a phone... I dont consume media via the phone, I dont use apps.. I text at times, but nothing major.

Plus.. it would be wicked cool to have a mac computers, android tablets and a windows phone!
 
Well if apps aren't important to you then I'd definitely recommend a windows phone. Their app store is limited (though not horrible), but the UI is really nice imo. You can do a lot in terms of customization and I think the OS is really good. But sadly the hardware is not of the same quality as say, apple. I've dropped my iPhone more times than I can count without damaging it, but it only took one measly drop on a RUG ("not on the rug, man...") to turn half of my screen black (Nokia Lumia).

If you only use it to call people and text then it's definitely worth it. The interface is, as I said, really nice and easy to use! Hopefully they've made them more durable, or perhaps mine was just poorly made.

And yeah that is a pretty cool mix!
 
Why bother with a smart phone at all? Just pick up a dirt cheap phone that will call and text and be pretty much indestructible. I have one to take with me to gigs. Calls, texts, survives people smashing into it and if it does break get another one for next to nothing.

There are occasions where I need/use the smart functions, but more importantly I like to appear smart when I go to a client. Whipping out a flip-phone when I am pitching mobile advertising and bringing them into todays trends might seem askew.

That is the only thing that draws me back to apple (have android now) is that more people have iphones and less have windows. I would appear more, 'urban hip' with an iphone. Additionally, iphone owners statistically have a higher education and household income than android, so that presents a better picture. Windows, I would simply be a rebel, a renegade, which matches the archetypical imagery of the business, so theoretically I could make a windows phone work for me much easier than my android.

Yes, I am a poser. But I freely admit it.
 
I have a windows phone and I love it. Much better than Android or iPhone for what I do (I also don't use apps).

You must have gotten unlucky, I've had my Nokia Lumia since launch pretty much and it's been through hell without breaking. And I mean that phone took a dive from a horse onto pavement and didn't even crack. Usually I find those iPhones are the fragile ones, you drop them and if they lend on their pack they just shatter.
 
Ahh I see. My friend had a windows phone for a while and got on fine with it. Should be alright for what you're using it for.

@Taake yeah my girlfriend likes them as well. It's not like they don't work or anything I just don't understand the obsession. Every time I've been looking for a new piece of technology all the way back to the old mp3 player versus ipod days, Apple products have been over priced by comparison. I swear you pay for the product and then a 50% premium for the shiny Apple logo.

I can 100% say their computers are not over-priced. Hands down nothing compares to a mac. Their mobile tech I am not sold on, but computers, they still are top notch.

I get what you mean, I just see people nagging about the crappiness of Apple so often that it gets a bit tiresome.

And honestly for me it's familiarity more than obession. I was given an iPhone years ago and as I don't like technology, or learning to operate new things, I just keep buying whatever brand I've been using because it's easier. 🙂 I was actually given the first phone because my sister couldn't stand seeing me use this taped together Motorola flip-phone I was refusing to give up, lol. When it comes to stuff like that I follow the path of least resistance 😉
 
In my opinion, iPhones are just "small screens that need to be plugged in 24/7" (This only applies to their phones, their iPods don't seem to have that problem).

I have heard good things about them actually. I'm not rich enough to afford one but given how much of a pain windows can be I'm happy to believe a mac is better. I'm more clued up with phones though and an iphone is generally of mid range android capabilities sold at way above a reasonable price. Same was true of the ipod. You could always pick up an equivalent mp3 player for half the price.
 
I'd love a mac. I'd also love a smart phone (of any kind) that doesn't run out of battery in the space of an hour. Do they exist?

The Galaxy S6 Active has been clocked out at 16 hours of video playback on a single charge. It gets a full charge in about an hour and a half.

I've currently got a Sony, not great. HTC not much better either.
 
Oh! I like the Sony's we've here.. I was wanting one of them also. I collect cars and phones.
 
I think it was the Xperia Z3... but it was on another service. And I havent gotten a new phone yet. I'm awaiting the iphone 6c which should drop in August or September. It will be the bees knees.
 
I've got the Xperia Z2. I mean, it does the job, but the battery power isn't great, and I'm constantly running out of memory (even got myself a huge memory card!). I think, maybe, possibly, I just use my phone too much.

Let us know how the iphone6c is once you've got it!
