Wolfram & Hart - The Key

Ana8 is here....No one will make not so nice comments bout you anymore...I love your fanfic, you're the best writer and keep posting!!!!

Thank you, ana, LoL. I'm continueing it now, the next part will be a long one.

Here's a little bit.

Harmony walked into Wesley's office, knocking on the door as she entered. She walked up to his desk and smiled. "Angel wants to know if you've found out any information about the demons that attacked him."

"Oh, yes, Harmony. Thanks for reminding me." Wesley grabbed some papers and a book. "You are welcome to listen in on the conversation. If it turns serious, I think everyone should know about it. Come on." Wesley walked out of his office and went inside Angels'.

"Wesley." Angel stood up. "Any information on the demon yet?"

"Yes, I found plenty." Wesley said. "You said you've battled these demons before, right? So, this information won't be any news to you."

"Is this going to be a long speech thing?" Harmony asked.

"Not entirely. Just a quick briefing. If Angel has battled these demons before, it should be easy for him to kill them again." Wesley opened the book and started reading. "The demons you fought are Mohra demons. They are powerful soldiers of darkness. They kill warriers of goodness." He shook his head. "They need a lot of salt to live, bla bla bla." He stopped. "Ah, here we go. Their blood has regnerative properties. If you hurt one, it will come back bigger and stronger. To kill the demon, someone must bring darkness to 1000 eyes."

"I remember now." Angel turned around. He had a series of weapons hanging on his wall. It has everything: knives, swords, crossbows, etc. "I just killed them by beating them to a bloody pulp, but I think the book way is easier."

"Any explanation on why there is so many of them?" Fred asked. She had been listening in the doorway. She didn't want to walk in and interupt them, she was respectful that way.

"One doesn't have to be smart to know that they gather around power." Harmony said. "I even know that one."

"So, they are gathering around something very powerful. That doesn't explain why they were after Michael. I mean, obviously they'd go after you, because you are one of the worlds finest fighters, but after a 15-year-old boy. Doesn't make sense."

"Well, Fred, he is a key. Monks made him to store all the secrets of Wolfram & Hart. I think the demons want to kill him to keep a secret safe. If he remembers something, it could blow Wolfram & Hart into pieces." Angel said, reaching for a crossbow on his wall. "I'm not going to let that happen."

"Should we have some sort of protection around him at all times?" Wesley asked.

"Yeah, Eve can probably apoint body guards to him. All the other times, out of office, I'll be with him. I can keep him safe." Angel wondered whether or not he should tell them about Michaels' dream last night. He desided he would, if the problem was going to be solved, everything had to be in the open. "Last night Michael had a dream. He thinks it was a premonition of some sort, as I'm beginning to believe myself. He said that we all went down into some cavern and fought thousands of these Mohra demons."

"That kinda sounds like......." Angel looked up, sensing Spike in the room. Spike nodded to Angel. "........a hellmouth."

Now that I'm not drowning in a sea of blatant attacking jokes, I can appreciate your writing skills. I'm glad that you managed to balance the likeable and unlikeable traits of Micheal and Harmony. Yes, these people are supposed to be annoying brats, but all characters have to have something relatable about them. Think back to Cordelia on the first three seasons of Buffy. The story keeps getting more interesting. Keep it up.

One thing though that I just noticed: Fred and the rest of the Fang Gang aren't supposed to remember Connor. It's just a little continuity thing though, so don't change that, it's a great scene.

Now I'm stuck on how to do the next part. Why does writers block have to be so... block-ful...

Oh yeah... forgot about that part... was very confusing to me. I was rushing to finish a project. I remember Connor holding up people at a mall, Angel wooping his ass, then Angel watching him with another family. So, I've been confused on the whole thing.

"What is a Hellmouth?" Fred looked at both Spike and Angel, confused. "What's a Hellmouth?"

"Wasn't my high school build over a Hellmouth?" Harmony asked, surprisingly. How did Harmony know that? During Graduation, Buffy never stood there and told them the whole vampire slayer, hellmouth, vampires story. She must have picked it up while living as a vampire in Sunnydale.

"Yes. The Sunnydale Hellmouth is the most famous one. There is another one in Cleveland." Wesley said, raising an eye brow. "And now it seems that there is another one somewhere else."

Spike coughed, and put his hand in the air. "Hey! Hello. I'm still here, remember. Remember me? I destroyed the Hellmouth. It is not famous, it was famous."

"Wouldn't someone notice a big mouth in the ground?" Fred asked. She was never informed on Hellmouth. She thought it was actually a mouth of hell, she didn't understand the metaphor.

"It's not actually a mouth of hell." Angel explained. "It's a portal where demons come together. It was thought to be an opening in the library, where a Hellmouth spawn would come out, but recently we found out that there is a seal. You walk down into a seal and there it is... thousands of evil warriors."

"Thousands? I don't get it. How could Spike have destroyed thousands of demons?" Fred asked. She was just asking what everyone wanted to know. They knew Spike destroyed the Hellmouth, but HOW did he do it?

"I gave him a pendant." Angel explained. "It was supposed to have a cleansing power, but--"

"But it didn't. It made a big mess." Spike interupted. "Flashy lights happened, sunlight reflected off my body and killed all the demons, my eyes melted and I turned to ash."

Angel shook his head slightly. He made it sound like Angel was a coward. He didn't know that that would have happened. If he did, he would have done it himself. If he died, insted of Spike, it still would have been one more person he saved. He raised his head a little bit and saw Michael walking down the hallway outside. When did he get here?

Angel stood up from his desk and hurried out of the room. He ran up and pulled on Michaels' shoulder, turning him around. "When and how did you get here? I thought you were at the apartment?"

"I drove." Michael said, shrugging his shoulder away from Angel.

Angel blinked. "You drove?"

"Yes."

"You know how to drive?" Angel asked. "Where did you get the car?"

"I told you, I know lots of things, and drivng seems to be one of them." Michael said. "And I took one of your cars. You have more than one."

"But you're 15-years-old. You don't have a permit. What if you got caught and got arrested? No ID, no address, no family, no nothing. How would we get you out of jail?" Angel didn't mean to be the mean 'parent' type person, but he felt that Michael doing something that stupid was a huge risk.

"I drive carefully." He sighed. "It's not like I was running stop signs."

"Yeah, but you forget. People make mistakes. Even if you don't, someone else might. What if you got into a car accident because of a drunk driver? The cops would have to talk to you. How would you explain yourself?"

"Ok! Fine! You're right!" Michael yelled.

"Hey!" Angel yelled back. "What's wrong with you lately?! You have been so mean and disrespectful since you had that nightmare."

"IT WASN'T A NIGHTMARE, ANGEL!" Michael yelled back, turning red. "IT WAS REAL!"

Fred, Wesley, and Harmony stood in the doorway of Angels' office, not saying anything. Other Wolfram & Hart employees gathered in the hallways as well, watching them.

"No! It was not real!" Angel screamed. "You were just dreaming! You said that we were all killed by the Mohra demons. We aren't. We are all standing right here."

"Ok! Then maybe it hasn't happened yet, but it will!" Michael sighed loudly. "Didn't your friend Cordelia have visions? How come you believed her all the time, and not me?!" He narrowed his eyes, looking away from Angel. He looked at the wall. There was something there. Slowly, he could see an outline of the a door. There was a door. There was a big goat head on the door. Where did that door come from? "Angel, when did that door get there?" He pointed to it.

Angel looked at the wall angrily, but there was nothing there. "Michael, now you are seeing things, you need help."

"I'm not crazy! Angel there is a door right there! LOOK!" He walked up to the door and started hitting it. "It's right here."

Angel looked at the wall again. He saw nothing. He turned back to his friends, and they gave him the "we see nothing" expression. It was only him. Had his friend gone insane? He wanted to believe him, he really did, but he was seeing them dead, seeing himself in blood, seeing doors that aren't there. "Michael, I'm going to get you some help."

"Angel, I don't need help." Michael said calmly. "Please, just do me a favor and hit that wall or something. Even if you use it as an excuse to prove that I am crazy, just do it!"

Suddenly a Wolfram & Hart security guard grabbed Michaels' hands. He started pulling him towards the elevator. "You are causing a huge commotion, we can not work, and you are scaring some of our clients. I am going to put you in a confined room until you are done with your little rant."

"What?! No!" Michael screamed, trying to get away from the guard. "Angel! Get this guy off me!"

"Sorry, Michael, but for now, I have to do what's best for everyone. I'll come down to see you soon." Angel said grimly. He couldn't believe he just gave someone permission to lock his friend up for a while.

Michael was near tears again as he was dragged into the elevator. He sighed, struggling with the guard again, although he knew it was useless. He heard Angel say "someone get an ax, chop up this wall, let's see if there is really anything there". Michael sighed, atleast Angel listened...somewhat. He looked at the door, the one he only could see, and suddenly felt dissy.

Thousands. There were thousands of them. He'd seen about 3 demons together in his short time. Three. Not thousands. They were all down in a cavern. A spiral stair case was their only way out of the Hell. The demons gathered below were the same ones that attacked Angel years ago, and the demons that attacked Angel and Michael in the parking lot. Why was there so many of them? Why were they there? There? It seemed so familiar. The energies shifting and the scents hovering over the pit were so familiar to him.

It occured to him. The energies and scents were all from one place, some place that was newly familiar to him. A smell or sound can slip out from underneath a door, and cause other rooms to smell or sound like it. Given enough time, it could fill up a huge space. A cavern. A hellmouth.

"ANGEL!" Michael screamed. "DON'T OPEN THAT DOOR! YOU'LL ALL DIE IF YOU OPEN THE DOOR! THE HELLMOUTH IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT DOOR!!!!!!" His voice was not heard, as the elevator doors closed, he looked on, in fear.

Nice. But I think Fred would know a little bit more about the Hellmouth by now. She mentioned Spike destroying it in "Just Rewards," and I'm sure with all the research she did to try to make Spike corporeal again, she must have studied the place where Spike sacrificed himself.

You're probably right. But, things are usually explained over and over and over again in books, so I just thought that could be my way of explaining everything. do you have every episode of Buffy and Angel memorized? you pick up on everything lol.

LOL, no, I just started watching Buffy over the summer, but I've seen almost that entire show in like a few months. Aah, the miracle of syndication. I've only seen a few Angel episodes that occured before Season 5, but I've seen the entire current season so far. These little things don't really matter, and they do help move the story along. I've seen way worse errors within the show itself, so it's easy to forgive.

I think everything is going well now. But if I start saying Fred is the vampire Slayer, then you can get worried lol.

Sure I will, after I freak out, call a lot of people, and think of a plan to save me from my psychotic x-girlfriend.

I was about to go take a shower actually, so, if somehow I can get the computer in there and not get electricuted...

Michael sat in the uncomfortable chair left his holding cell. The guard had left him there for about ten minutes, but he already was getting a little crazy. He knew he had to get to Angel and tell him not to open the door. Although the doorway could not be seen by others, Michael remembered he was special. He was made by powerful munks. Maybe that was why he could see the door and no one else could.

He felt panic rising in his stomach. He was afraid for what would happen if Angel opened the door, but also because of where his holding cell was. It was in the bottom floor of Wolfram & Hart. It was were they kept all the evil beings who needed to be contained. He wasn't evil. Why was he here?

"I have to do something." Michael said to himself, pacing in his room. "There has to be someway for me to get out of here, and I have to get to Angel." He was about to start banging on the door, when he felt dissy again. He braced himself on the chair and fell into it. As if he was dead, his soul floated out of his body and up towards the ceiling. Slowly it disappeared from sight, leaving Michael lifeless in the chair.

-San Fransisco, California-

"Xander, what are we going to do with you?" Buffy asked, putting bandages over Xanders' injured hand. "You always take charge and it's beginning to hurt you. You should try resting until your injuries are hurt."

"Well, if no one wants to build the new hospital and the people that do slack off, then who else is going to do it?" Xander asked. "I have to much riding on this new building."

"You don't need to wear the pants in this house." Willow said. "I mean, I'm working, Buffy's working. We will still have plenty of money if you take a break from work."

"I just want to get this job done. It's a hospital, and hospitals are important." Xander said half jokingly. "Plus, where would Buffy go when she gets injures again? Willows' quick fix meditation thing doesn't work on you."

"I'm a Slayer, I heal quickly." Buffy said, putting some of the bandages back into a box. She stood up and carried them into the kitchen.

"It doesn't sound cool anymore. THE Slayer sounded real cool." Willow remembered the past 7 years she spent battling side-by-side with her best friend.

"I know. Maybe there will be some vampires that lived under a rock and don't know about it." Xander laughed.

Suddenly, a figure appeared next to the ceiling. Buffy, Xander, and Willow saw it and they slowly backed up. The figure took form. It was Michaels' soul. It landed on the ground and he dusted himself off and looked at them. He recognised Buffy.

"Buffy?"

"Who are you?" Buffy asked. She looked up at the ceiling. "How did you get into my house?"

"That's a good question..." Michael looked down at himself. "People seem to be all these questions that I can't answer. It's kinda annoying."

"I'll ask you again." Buffy said demandingly. "Who are you?"

"I'm Michael." He reached out and tried to shake her hand, but his hand went through her. "Don't worry! I'm not evil."

"Remember The First could do things like." Willow said, questioning if Michael was a good guy.

"Yeah, but he did the whole flashy appearance thing." Xander said. "This guy just did a cheap magician trick."

"I'm not evil!" Michael said again. "Look, I'm here to warn you. You talk to Angel, yeah?"

"I haven't talked to Angel before the battle in the Hellmouth."

"Well, there is a Hellmouth in Wolfram & Hart. Angel has been working there for a while now. He is about to unknowingly open the door into Hellmouth. I tried to warn him, but I couldn't. You need to get down there quickly. There isn't much time." Michael felt a pull on his body, a strong pull, as if he was leaving again. "That's my cue. I gotta go. HURRY! And... don't forget about me, I'm locked in a holding cell on the bottom floor." With those words, Michael disappeared slowly as he did before.

Angel stood near the wall where Michael reported a door. Behind him stood Harmony and Fred, who were armed with guns, Wesley and Gun who had swords and an ax swung over their shoulder. Lorne was there with a microphone, maybe the high pitched yell he did would burst blood vessels in their heads or something. 20 armed Wolfram & Hart agents stood behind them, all of them equipped with hand guns and sniper rifels.

Angel took an ax from Wesley and rose it in the air. He brought it down into the wall, and a hollow sound could be heard. Each swing it got bigger and bigger. Soon a small hole was in the wall, and Angel used his vampire strength to tare away the remaining parts on the wall. There it was. A large stone doorway with a goat head on it. It was obviously something evil. The opening to the Hellmouth. Angel reached a steady hand out and touched the symbol. Working differently from the one at Sunnydale, this seal would open by the touch of a dead, souled, vampire.

The blades that made up the goat head began to move and turn in place. A star appeared in the middle and it slowly spread out to the side, leaving room for people to walk through. Angel went first, followed by his friends, then the WA agents.

Down they walked. A dark spiral stair case lead them out to a large cliff. It smelled of death. The only light was of the fires that were burning in random places. There were sharp rocks and deep holes everywhere. The warriers watched their steps as they walked.

That's when they saw them. As the group neared the end of the cliff, they looked down. Below them, thousands of Mohra demons were scrambling about. As did The Final Battle of Sunnydale, one demon looked up, followed by another, and all at once they started charging up hill towards Angel and his army.

Wesley turned and looked up at Angel, who was on a higher elevation. They were sooooo outnumbered. There was about 30 of them, and a thousand of the demons. Spike appeared late, but this time, he had no amulet. They were surely doomed.

"We have to get out of here." Fred said, terrified.

"It's to late. They are already coming, the seal is already opened." Angel had made a monumentous mistake. So many people would die because of him now.

"Haven't you learned, Angel? It's not over until *I* say it is." Buffy called walking down into the Hellmouth, followed by Faith, Willow, Xander, and 20 other Slayers. "I got all call from your friend, Michael. Said you needed my help."

"How did you get here so fast?" Angel asked in disbelieve.

"When Willow made every into Slayers, she tapped into some extremely powerful magic. If you think she was powerful when she tried to end the world, you should see her now." Buffy explained. "All she did was teleport from place to place, and then here we are."

"I really like the reunion thing." Gunn said. "But if we are about to fight a big demon army, could we maybe make up later?"

"Oh, yeah, right." Buffy waved her left arm behind her back. Each girl started holding onto a large object and then held it up to Buffy. Buffy reached down and grabbed the weapon. She put it over her shoulder and pressed a few buttons, as she did before.

A Mohra demon looked up at them. He nudged one of the other demons and pointed up to them. "What does that thing do?"

Buffy pushed the little red button, and BOOM! Two huge rockets shot out of the launcher and went straight into the pit below. A huge explosion rocked the whole fighting area, and causes things to shake and fall over in the offices of Wolfram & Hart. A huge deal of damage was already done to the army of Mohra demons. "I make this thing look gooooood."

Although her blasts of the rocket launcher devistated the on coming army of demons, there were a few hundred of them left, and they were all rushing towards them.

"These guys are dust." Vi said, pulling out her good all hunting knife.

"Are you going to say that everytime we get into a big battle?" Magui asked, laughing slightly.

"I think it's getting kind of old." Ana said grimly. "You need a better line. That's been used in so many fight movies."

"Sorry that my punning isn't good enough for you." Vi looked back towards the oncoming army.

"I guess this will be a bonding experience for me." Jen said. "I wasn't with you in the Sunnydale Hellmouth. So, this is my first time."

"Good luck." Marissa patted her shoulder. "It's really fun. You'll be sorry it's all over when it is... over... that is."

All the newbie Slayers laughed. They all got in fighting positions, as did Buffy, Faith, Angel, Spike, Gunn, Willow, Xander, Wesley, Fred, Harmony, and the WA soldiers.

Let the battle begin.
