Nathan Fillion provides the voice of Steve Trevor in the new Wonder Woman animated film.

A direct-to-video animated film adaptation of Wonder Woman was released on March 3, 2009 on DVD and Blu-ray disc as part of the DC Universe Original Animated Movies series produced by DC Comics animation veteran Bruce Timm and released by Warner Bros. The film stars Keri Russell as Wonder Woman and is directed by Lauren Montgomery. It feature Russell's Waitress costar Nathan Fillion as Steve Trevor, as well as Alfred Molina, Rosario Dawson, and Virginia Madsen.

Joss Whedon was once connected to a live-action version of Wonder Woman, but I think this may be the closest we will get to seeing a Wonder Woman movie.

I have to say I really enjoyed this film. Great voice work. Good story. Nice animation. Nathan Fillion is fantastic, very funny.

For an animated film, all I could think was, how epic it felt. This would have been fantastic to see on the big screen, live action, with Joss writing and directing of course. Joss must be annoyed he lost out on this.

Anyway. For those who have seen it, please discuss.

I saw it. It was surprisingly good. All the voice acting was excellent. I'm impressed with the DC animated flicks that I've seen and this is no exception. The only down side with these films is that they limit them to 75 minutes.

A great WW origin story. Epic, violent. Dark and yet very funny too (Steve telling Hippolyta that her daughter "has a nice rack"...Diana telling that little girl in the park "Now go. Unleash hell." or whatever it was 🙂

I liked all the back and forth between Steve and Diana talking about men and women. On balance, the film wasn't sexist and it wasn't purely feminist moralizing. We see the downside of the Amazons and the path they've chosen, living on that island.

I've seen so many people complaining about Diana's looks in this, but it makes sense. She has sort of Greek, Mediterranean features.

I've read that Warner's may be considering a live action WW feature again after the huge success of Dark Knight. There are so many DC properties in development right now, it's amazing.
 
It looks good. I've never really watched or read WW, it just seemed a bit silly. The trailer looks very impressive, though. I like that it is more a story of where she came from (right?) so I might watch it. And, hey, Nathan Fillion 🙂
