Did you see BvS? At least for me, there were two things I liked about the movie, Wonder Woman and Batman. In that order. So for me, she did still the show, but that does not make it a better movie. Perhaps she just comes across well because the rest of the movie is terrible. lol
Lol. Oh she'd be cool with it. They went and saw Suicide Squad as a family. lol. And the kids liked that movie! My nephew's favorite movie is The Expendables 2.

I don't see the point of sensoring movies for kids, unless they get scared or something, but better to see it as a family and talk about it, if not the kids will find a way to see it anyway lol

Just my opinion but 9 is a bit too long for this film. Its quite dark in places, and also there's quite a lot of plot rather than action. Depends on the kid of course. But I think 12 is a good starting age for the film.

Well I said maybe I'd take the 9 year old. Lol. But if she can watch Suicide Squad, I'd rather her watch WW, with a positive female superhero role model.
I wouldn't take my almost-7-year old niece, but my brother and sister-in-law might and as her parents that's up to them. I would probably take her to see the sequel in a couple of years time because she is quite mature for her age, but again I'd ask her parents permission. The last movie I took her to see was Despicable Me 2, so this is ever so slightly a bit more adult!
One more think I remembered that I loved about this movie - on Themyscira, the Amazonians had wrinkles, and wobbly bits. If it'd been directed by a man they'd have probably been de-wrinkled and smoothed over in post-production. I liked that these were battle-scarred women.
Although, I did have a question - Diana appears to be immortal and she's been pretty much the same age today as she was in WW1, however we see the young Diana grow up? If she's immortal, surely she stays the same age? Or at least grows up veeerrrrryyyyy slowly? We don't know how much time has passed between her as a child to her fighting as an adult Amazon, but it's not shown to be an incredible length of time?

Its this sort of issue which is why it made sense that they brought the 12A Cert in, in this country. The old PG meant that 7 or 8 year olds were fine to see the film as long as their parents or an adult were with them. But some PG's for example the first Burton Batman would be a bit graphic or full on for kids.

For the most part my sisters kids are mature for their age. I don't always agree with what they are allowed to watch, but also I watched a lot of inappropriate movies and shows as a kid. My 12 year old niece's current show is That 70's Show. Which I think is not appropriate but I also can't stop her from watching it. She also loved Harley and the Joker in Suicide Squad, but she's more mature than my 14 yr old niece so I trust her to know what is right and wrong.
And yea I think hundreds of years went by from young Diana to WW1 time. But they never say, or maybe it's like she stops aging after she reaches like 25 or something. Lol
When I was a kid Batman Returns was my favorite movie, and that's probably not for kids, which is why we got Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, which are only for kids. But again, a lot of the me adult stuff just goes over little kids heads. They just like the action and crazy costumes. They don't really pay attention to the plot or messages in these movies. I think PG 13 is good for WW.

Again it depends on the kid. Actually I think Batman Returns is quite tame compared with the recent Batmans. Think another thing is the plot though and the attention span of the child. The new Wonder Woman is quite slow paced and has quite a lot of character stuff, and not a lot of action (which I think is a good thing), but certain kids might find that a bit boring. That is why a lower teen upwards age I think is the best audience.

True. And there are certainly more kid friendly versions of Batman, the Joel Schumacher movies and Adam West. The Nolan movies are very dark and adult. Much more than WW. I don't really have a problem with the pacing of the movie. There's 3 big action scenes that are awesome. I think anytime a movie is over 2 hours long you run the risk of losing the audience's attention. And kids have a short attention span as it is. Lol. I think at home kids might be able to watch it with their parents, cause then they can talk and distract themselves when they get bored. Other than Disney/cartoon movies, I don't remember seeing a lot of movies in the theatre as a kid, but I rented a lot on VHS. lol.

Really late watching this because it's been nice weather so no rush to be inside. Also wasn't planning on watching any more DC films since Man of Steel and Suicide Squad were both rubbish. I pretty much agree with @Guy this is a lot better. It's not a boring slog to get through. Quite funny at times, decent focus on a couple of characters and believable chemistry between the leads.
It suffers a bit from having Wonder Woman being so over powered in my opinion. Much like Superman movies where there's no sense of danger. Also they didn't think through the big epiphany at the end. She killed the German, thought it was Aires and then was gutted the war didn't end. So she loses faith in humanity, questions her life etc. However Aires wasn't dead, he rolls up later, the have an over the top God powered slobber knocker and she kills him. Then the soldiers lay down arms and the war ends. Which would actually support her original stance that he was the problem, poisoning humanity.
