I've just finiished my college work experience at my local hospital. It was really interesting and i learned a lot. I was working as a receptionist and was answering phones, filing, making up casenotes, arranging appointments and dealing with patients. It was really good practice and everything ive been learning at college made a lot more sense.

So, i was just wondering, who else here has been on a work placement? Did you enjoy it? What did you get to do?

Id be really interested to hear other peoples stories!

The worst one I had was at school, I was a receptionist in a big manor hotel which was nice but it was next to a Crem, which meant that we would always have funeral parties in, and my gran had died like 2 weeks prior to it so I was constantly bursting into tears...needless to say I left before I should have.

I've been on 2...

The first was as a primary school assistant. It was good...

The second was in an office- less good. I couldn't believe how much the phone rang!

I did mine, last year at school.
I was placed at Argos, and I did the taking orders stuff (from upstairs, you know...putting the items on the belt)
But it only lasted 4 days, cuz I walked into a chair, and dislocated my knee, and my whole summer holidays were spent, wearing a big ol' cast, and I could do anything...

Never been on a work placement. I did go to this international forum, where all these high school students played out the European Parlement for a week, together with a belgian school, we were France.

i voulenteered at a nursing home in the summer and i didnt like it because it smelled and the workers were mean to the ederly people

lol...rene...i'm feelin you...worked at one for a year...but my coworkers were really cool to the clients....not like most other places...

pretty much...i just ran activities..wiped chairs...cleaned floors...shoot the breeze with old peeps...pretty much i was like a friendly janitor...lol

lol...that was the place with the wang incident i told yall bout...the one with the unisex bathroom..lol..

I was on one when i was in school... as a primary school assistant. Helping around class, pinning up displays, and talking to all the kids. I enjoyed it so much that i decided i wanted to be a high school teacher. I'm at university now and i'm about to go on my first placement at the end of this semester. Bit nervous but i'm really looking forward to going! 🙂

Never been on work placement, just working really.

First job I had was babysitting kids at the local Youth Club thing. It was good money, but it was only holiday work.

Now I'm a part time waitress at a sushi bar, until I can get my diploma and move into my human services degree as I want too.

My only job ever was babysitting...and chores of course. I plan to get a job a couple months after I turn 16.
