Working Buffyisms Into Daily Conversation

I've used "You have But- face" on someone who didn't particualarly get it or appreciate it....I've used " Buku to Mojo", and "Five by five". And of coarse "Bored now" is classic for any Buffy fan......

I've used "bored now" a bunch of times...

I also find myself saying "you have something face" or "you have but-face" ...but nobody else seems to get it. lol

The other day I was talking to my boyfriend and he asked me how my day was. I said "I am giddy and up!" (from Reptile Boy)

My two labradors regularly attack the kitchen bin when we go out - we have an elastic bungee tie around it now, but on days where we have forgotten, the whole house is a mess with rubbish and half chewed veg peelings everywhere. The last time this happened, I found myelf saying 'Uh-oh.... major trashage' so I am well aware of the 'age' isms!

I think of it as my duty to work at least one Buffy quote into daily conversation. And it makes for a far more interesting day! Yes, sometimes people just think you are plain weird, but that is compensated for by suddenly finding a fellow Buffy fan who recognises and responds accordingly. Then you are no longer the outsider freak, and belong in a little gang of your own - everyone else is the weirdo 😉

I used "I doodle. I do doodle. You too! You do doodle too!" the other day. And I tend to use "(word) much?" as in "morbid much?". And...in English, i explained "The hardest thing to do in this world...is to live in it" in my daily writing assignment. And I've DEFINATELY used "GOD! What's ur childhood trauma?!"

I was revelling in the prospect of the weekend only being a couple of hours away today, and as I walked past a packing line I started singing a song that went a little something like this:
Weekend's comin'
Weekend's comin'
For you *point at perplexed worker*
And you *point at amused worker*
And you *point at scowling supervisor*
So, the supervivor promptly enquired what drugs I'd been doing, to which I replied, "I have the proportionate excitability of a puppet my size! I'm a wee, little puppet man!" As the scowl turned to a worry frown I added, " I don't have cable, so I have to make my own fun."

Now I've got to look forward to a urine test, though...

Oh and I've used "Its officially nippy...so say my nips" many times, especially lately. Its been damn cold.

I'm a stickler for saying, "What is your childhood TRAUMA?!" My friends actually consider it something that defines me.

Also, when something cool or incredibly funny happens, I go, "We should video that and show it every Christmas."

When my friends are being weird I tell them, "Your Earth logic does not resemble our Earth logic."

Also, one of the nicknames I gave my kitten is Miss Kitty Fantastico. And it must be said like Miss Kitty FanTASTICO. Lots of exuberence, and pep.

I also tend to add -age or -y at the end of words. I do it a lot here. BuffySpeak has become a part of who I am now. What can I say?

I have some random hobbies (quilting being one of them) and a friend visited and looked shocked that I can do practical and creative things with my hands.

I just found myself saying 'What, I'm not allowed to have layers?'

To say they looked at me strangely is an understatement 🙂

LOL - that's a good one!
I also tend to add -age or -y at the end of words.
I do the putting an -y in the end of things thing all the time, my friends think I'm strange (or maybe they just thing I'm really bad at English, I'm not sure)..
Usually when I say quotes they just don't get what I'm trying to say though, so I kind of stopped doing that, hm..

Here's all the ones I could come up with:

That was nifty

____-ness (lol I can't even tell you how many words I have for this one)

____-age

____-y

Hello to the imagery!

(word) much?

Smoochies

What's her/your/his deal?

This is the part that's less fun

It's funny how the Earth never opens up and swallows you when you want it to.

chocolatey goodness!

Note to self: (humorous comment)

You have a something face

SNOOPY DANCE! (not really a buffyism I know, but I use it a lot)

You're sweet, a TERRIBLE liar, but sweet

Like I said, I'm sure there's LOADS more, but that's what first came to mind. Buffy-lingo is like a part of my language now, I don't even notice when I use one of the phrases

i've used 'i was making with the funny' a lot...mostly to people who don't get my jokes! lol!

and i use the nips one A LOT!! lol!! it's cold in Belfast!!

Since I'm talking swedish almost all the time it's not very easy to work buffyisms in to the conversation, but I live with people from all over the world now and use english more frequently. And last week, I was going to the bathroom and someone told me to take it easy, and I replied: "I've got a system".

It's funny how the Earth never opens up and swallows you when you want it to.

I use that, and although its not really a buffyism it introduced me to the word uber and I have stared using it allot, usually get asked what it mean after!

Lol..yeah it comes without thinking...and everyone is usually like whaaat?
usually when someone is getting on my nerves...or just being taking forever to explain something I'll say "In 5 words or less." from when Buffy said that to spike and in turn he said "out..for..a..walk..b--ch."
