Personally for me, that match was a great game, but not for sportsmanship.
I got the impression that the Portuguese team were purposefully taking dives(it was evident from some of the falls and places being held) in an attempt to rile up certain players.
Should Rooney have held his temper in? Totally.
Was he provoked on purpose to get him of the pitch? I'm thinking so.

Don't be surprised if this season Rooney or Ronaldo move from Man U.
I'd wager any money that Rooney is gonna push for that guy to go.

I didn't see much of the game although what I did see of it I thought is was good, but when we went into Extra time I knew that if we didn't score there was no chance we were going to win! Damn me being right!!! I cried and I couldn't believe how gutting it is! Well from the teams left I think France is going to win but who knows!

Ronaldo will go...there's been rumors in the papers the last few weeks that he wanted a move to Real Madrid, but Sir Alex was making a play for him to stay...with him and Rooney leading as his two main strikers. but after the fiasco of the game, i don't see that happening anymore. i'm a Man U supporter, and have been all my life. Ronaldo, even though he was playing for the opposite side from Rooney, should not have run to the referee and told on him like a little kid in the school yard. i was a big fan of Ronaldo, i'm not sure he lives up to that anymore.

as for the teams left...i want Togo to win...oh, wait, what? they're out too? Damn, i don't want anyone to win. 😉

Wow, this was a hell of soccer weekend...

I thought I was gonna get a heart attack when i watched the Germany game... but we got it. Lehmann is the best....

England vs. Portugal was pretty good game too. But i wished england would have won...

And finally Brazil is out. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!


You guys probably cant imagine what is going on in Germany right now. After the game on Friday there were car parades everywhere. Everybody yelling and beeping their horns. People just celebrating the victory on the streets... I have never seen anything like this before. Its just crazy.

Germany is so convinced that were gonna win this World cup.
And i think we will.

So now with England out is any of you gonna root for Germany???

master kenobi: of corse i liked that i won and all, but i can for example say that some faults we do maybe deserved some yellow cards, but i don't think the rooney deal was to help us.
ronaldo did what he hadda do. he belongs to the portuguese team, he's supoused to defend us? and since when doesnt the other team members go and "whine" as i eard here to the referee? it's being said like ronaldo was the first player to do this.

Though it was really nice seeing France beat Brazil, even though I hate french people... Though not as much as I hate that women that works at the Charles de gaulle international airport in Paris.

England lost because Portugal's goalkeeper was absolutely brilliant in the penalty shoot-out...never mind what ifs and what might've been. Though, as Alan Shearer said after the game, things might be a bit fraught at Man Utd's pre-season training if Ronaldo doesn't leave...though I have to say he seemed to be trying very hard to get Rooney sent off...

Yet again England let me down...we have some of the best players in the world and they seem incapable of playing together as a team on the big occasion...I have to blame the manager. What on earth was he doing bringing an untried kid to the World Cup when two of his first choice strikers were still recovering from injuries? He should've picked Defoe or Bent IMO...or left Jenas behind in favour of a striker...or...etc, etc...

Personally, i'm not sure why everyone is crying about England. They should be lucky they got as far as they did. There were teams that were playing far better then them that were defeated by still better teams. On the form we saw, England had no chance.
