i find it kinda funny that the portuguese are the "diving bastards" but noone says anything about that really really serious penalti shot origin.. i must say Henry is really not a "diving bastard" at all 😉
and the referee was really not against us at all 😛
but oh well can't really say we deserved to win, coz we missed so many chances and we really couldn't break their defense.
but it's kinda frustrating to see it end like that on a shady penalty too damn similar to the euro2000.
 
I just watched that scene agian thanks to the youtube link and
1) Rooney grapples with Portugese they both fall over
2) Rooney turns around as the Portugese slides accross( he was facing the other way, so : )
3)Rooney doesn't see where he'd landed he stamps on Testes(as he regains balence) turns round, then everyone(on the opposing side inc the Ref have a go.
You have to be retarded not to notice! sorry.
And i hope France wins purely because the y beat Portugal and wiped the smile off Portugals faces.

dude, wth is it with you people hating the portuguese players?
they've been called everything on this euro and you don't any justifications.
they been called violent, but the only red cards they had since scolari is the coatch were on the NL game.
they been called cheeters and my favorite "diving bastards" when there's much more dudes from other teams doing worse then they do. and honnestly tell me one team who never had a dude who faked a fault?
we honnestly played better then all the teams we won, and it was sutch a pitty that we lost now. but i don't go all "oooh we so deserved to win!" i might not have loved the referee at all, but we didnt score when we could, and france defended well, so yeah they player smarter then us, and for that deserved to win.
so just get over the fact that your team lost, and we were better =P

so for all you english fans and rest of portuguese team haters one message:
cheer up emo kids! after all it's just a game 😉

Kidding... No I wasn't... Yeah I was. No but seriously. It's true that divers are everywhere; like in the Swedish team (I know Zlatan has been called a diver), in my beloved Chilenian team (when Chile played Sweden at Råsunda, Valdivia that stupid bastard dived when he was about to make a goal!). But, IMO, some teams just take the price. Like Portugal, Argentina, Italy and Spain, they're all down with the diving-badness. I mean, you cant compare C.Ronaldo and Pauleta falling and complaining to the referee when NO ONE touched them and Miguel falling because he had an old injury and also, NO ONE touched him with Henry actually being tripped by Carvalho. I fact, 9 out of 10 experts say that the referee was right about giving France the penalty. It's true 😉

apparently need i need to spread some rep around, so i'll reply to this instead, and quote you, AV, coz i agree completely with what you said!! i lot of people only want to see the bad side of Rooney, but if you actually look at the tape, you can really tell that he didn't do it on purpose. he's back was to the Portugal player, so he didn't know that the guy was on the floor, or where he was putting his foot as he tried to regain his balance. i think it was way over the top to send Wayne off.

Lets not forget, Rooney was sent off, not because he played 'one touch' with the wrong balls, but because he lost his temper with Ronaldo IN FRONT OF THE REF.
Though, if you saw that whole scene, as Ronaldo was walking away he gave a victorious wink to his manager, indicating his 'goal' was to get Rooney off, which i do believe was by winding him up....his team mate would surely know what to say to piss him off.
