Worst Buffy Episodes

yep, season 1 & 2 are good..i like to watch em and season 3 ain't that bad either, cuz they had this new storyline with faith but then season 4 got a little weak( I don't really like riley)...I mean there are some good episodes like "Hush" but there were no great eps and then season 5 with dawn?! I don't know but the first episode "Buffy vs. Dracula" was really bad...i think that was the worst season start ever... Then season six they tried to chance the main-villain-thing a little bit and in season 7 they tried to come back to it
I don't know what that was all about
so my list would be:
s1 Never kill a boy on the first date
s2 go fish
s3 anne and dead man's party
s4 beer bad
s5 Buffy vs. Dracula
s6 afterlife
s7 him and I didn't really like the end

Oh, I liked Anne! I could have lived without Dead Man's Party, tho. And Beer Bad was ok, I really liked that Buffy clubbed Parker over the head at the end! That alone made the show worthwhile for me!

Why is everyone bashing the first 1 1/2 seasons? May I point out that if it wasnt for them, the last 5 1/2 seasons wouldnt have come out? And that they are good, considering the development of the show at the time? I mean, every shows first couple of seasons are gonna be "blah" after you get to season 3-5...You have to accept that, and look at how they were viewed at the time they came out...

I really didn't mean to sound like I was bashing the first 1 1/2 seasons. It's just that they are very much monster-of-the-week setting the scene and that's completely understandable. I just feel that I can skip these except for WTTHm, The Harvest and Prophecy Girl without missing any big picture developments. When I'm rating my seasons I always leave season 1 out because I don't want to put it last. I would feel unfair. Season 4, even though it has a bunch of great episodes has no excuses for being weak as a whole, whereas season 1 does. But you can see in the early episodes that it will develop into the great series it became. And the second half of season 2 is fantastic with the exception of Killed By Death and Go Fish.

I'm with those that found Living Conditions to be very funny and enjoyable. Kathy had to be so annoying to make the concept work. But I found her so annoying it became funny like a parody of your worst nightmare of a room-mate. And Buffy's reaction to it was golden.

I also like Lie To Me very much because it poses some interesting questions and is one of a handful of early episodes where the actors get to do some real emoting.

But, I can't go with anyone thinking Bad Eggs was a good ep. It actually had some great dialogue (as usual), but the whole premise just irritated me for some reason.

It'd be a boring old world if we all had the same opinions, though. One post saying "I don't like Bad Eggs," followed by a bunch of here-heres. That's not a discussion. So feel free to give love to or slag off any episodes you want and I won't think any less of you.

Hear, Hear!
I like Anne too, and Beer Bad. But I would definately have to agree with Him. That episode was dumb, another one I can't stand is Inca Mummy Girl.

But personally, I liked the beginning seasons more than all the other. Season 3 is my fave, then 2. I don't understand why no one see how wonderful 2&3 were. they were great episodes.

But then, there are a lot of episodes that many people hate, but i just love.
but, if i had to pick a list off the top of my head, here goes

Season 1
Teachers pet
The pack
I robot, you jane

Season 2
Inca mummy girl
Ted

Season 3
Homecoming
The zeppo

Season 4
Living conditions
The initiative
Where the wild things are

Season 5
I was made to love you

Season 6
After life
Flooded
Doublemeat palace

Season 7
Lessons
Him
First date
STORYTELLER
(GOD I HATED THIS EP, ANDREW ANNOYS ME SO MUCH, I WAS SO SAD HE DIDNT DIE!!!)

and it looks like thats it. But I just don't understand how people didn't like the Killer in me, I think that is one of the best episodes of the whole 7-year run. And it made me cry like a baby, poor willow. she misses tara sooooooo much. poor thing.

Hey, VG! Everyone's entitled to their opinion....if you like Kathy and the ep in general, more power to ya is what I have to say!

I didn't mean anything by it.I was just saying that i don't think Living Conditions all that bad.And I don't like Kathy.I hated her.I was with Buffy all the way when she was telling her friends Kathy was evil even before she ripped her face off.

No worries! I'm perfectly fine with everything you have to say....
HATED Kthy with a firey passion!! but i did like Living Conditions.
i love the part when Willow is on the phone to Giles, telling him that they think Buffy's gone crazy, and then simply says 'So i sent her to you, k?'
LMAO!

Actually, the first time I saw Living Conditions, I thought for a minute there that it wasn't anything wrong with Kathy and that it was just Buffy going crazy. Now, I don't know what part of my brain came up with that thought, but I'm sure that's why I just can't hate that episode. Because if you just can't see anything wrong in Kathy... then the world as we know it is no more, it's been replaced by "Kathyland" and that's just funny. Really...

*screams* Run away now!! i don't wanna live in Kathyland!!
seriously, though, some of the scenes in this ep are quite funny...like oz and xander trying to figure out if they tied buffy's ropes tight enough, then she bangs their heads together and says 'nope, not tight enough.'
that was funny, i thought!

Hehe... Here comes Kathy! (The shining reference ;)
Buffy's proof that if you have smart dialogue, and a character you can identify with, that's really all you need to create a cult. A TV cult. Not sure about Heaven's Gate or the Branch Davidians, but...

Cheap sets, creature costumes, bad direction just kind of fall by the wayside if you can pull something out of the show that you want to share with friends the next morning.

Nobody seems to care too much for Him, including myself. Kinda proves the point really because there are some truly funny quotes/moments in the ep such as when Xander and Spike go to talk to RJ's bro, who was formally loved and admired by all with the jacket, and now he's all needy and "hey, you guys don't have to go do ya? We could hang out..." and his mum calls out something about having little boxes of raisins to share with his friends. Then there's the scene where the girls are talking about the things they could do to prove their love for RJ. Buffy decides she'll kill Principal Wood for giving RJ a hard time and later there's the scene that never fails to crack me up, where Wood is in his office listening to the stereo and in the background, through the window, you see Buffy aiming a bazooka at him. Then Spike tackles her out of shot and seconds later runs back across the background with the bazooka.

So Him has some great moments, and if it was an ep of say Charmed (Just an example, don't get upset Charmed fans) it would be a great one. The Charmed boards would be alive the day after it aired with people saying how hilarious and interesting it was. But as a Buffy episode, the few good scenes are not enough to lift a below par episode.

Hey, the first three seasons of Charmed were really good😛

I liked Him but it wasn't my fave or anything. I liked Living Conditions because I thought it was funny and that's kind of what I would imagine a horrible roommate might be like. I like Lie to Me and my fave part is where they go to the vamp club and Angel says they don't know anything about vampires and then one of the guys walks by dressed just like him. I love Ted and was surprised it was mentioned so much. I thought that was a great episode but that could just be because I always loved John Ritter. I liked Where the Wild Things Are for the stuff with Anya, Xander and Spike but the Buffy/Riley scenes were icky. Here are my least liked episodes:

Season 1: Teachers Pet (kind of boring and the monster looked so fake), Out of Sight, Out of Mind (I liked the Cordy stuff but alot of it was kind of boring)
Season 2: loved it all
Season 3: loved it all
Season 4: The I in Team, Goodbye Iowa -this season had several kind of boring episodes
Season 5: Listening to Fear, Shadow
Season 6: Doublemeat Palace, As You Were (couldn't stand this episode)
Season 7: First Date

I like Lie to Me and my fave part is where they go to the vamp club and Angel says they don't know anything about vampires and then one of the guys walks by dressed just like him.
OMG, that was hilarious! Here Angel is....talking down about the people in the club, on and on about how they're acting like they think vamps act, dressing like they think vamps dress......and they don't know anything about it....and they guy looks at Angel like he's some kind of imposter! LMAOOOOO!

I thought that was hilarious. Especially the look on Angel's face and the way he looks down at his outfit.

About the "monster of the week" thing. I liked it. It made a lot of sense since the show was all about different monster. But when the show started getting into the same villain every week, it got REALLY dull. Now, if they had the villain in there, but it wasnt ABOUT the villain, that was okay, because it's good to see how the villain is doing without having the scoobies track them down. For example, Doppelgangland. The mayor and Faith were in there, but it wasnt about them, it was about Vamp Willow wreaking havoc.

The thing is that with Buffy even the less than perfect episodes are far better than most other televisions best episodes.

When I think of the idea of "worst episodes" I try to think of an episode that I would never want to see again or would skip a rerun of it on FX. I simply can't think of one. I'm shocked that Buffy fans can. Infact I could do it with any other show but Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Episodes from each of my favorite tv shows come to mind from Angel, Veronica Mars, Southpark, Sex and the City, Twin Peaks, hell even the Daily Show but not Buffy.

I must say I'm quite taken aback at the mention of many good episodes especially "The Zeppo" which so slyly reintroduced us to one of our main characters, added the light that he deserves, and amusingly poked fun at itself. These are your opinions which I respect your right to have but...really worst?

Dude...im right there with ya...well, i dont skip epis on Charmed either, but im still right there with ya...and i have seen like every episode at LEAST 10 times...lol..so u kno how good it must be!! lol
Season 1: None
Season 2: Some Assembly Required, Inca Mummy Girl, Reptile Boy
Season 3: None
Season 4: The Harsh Light of Day, The I in Team
Season 5: Most of these are boring and I don't remember what happens ep by ep.
Season 6: Life Serial, Smashed, Wrecked, Hell's Bells, Normal Again
Season 7: Sleeper, Never Leave Me, Showtime, First Date, Lies My Parents Told Me, Dirty Girls, Empty Places, Touched, Chosen

I've seen all these episodes atleast twice and the 2nd time just reaffirmed that I don't like them and don't really want to watch them again. So the last 3 seasons I didn't really like. Please don't give me bad karma for saying my opinion.
I used to be like ProphecyGirl where I wouldn't pick any bad episode because I loved the show so much but as the series went I on was really really disappointed.

It just hit me , I really did not care for restless, smashed, never kill a boy on the first date, any episode dawn centered..and I hated empty places
