love seasons one and two (as well as three - they're my absolute favorites).
The thing is that with Buffy even the less than perfect episodes are far better than most other televisions best episodes.
When I think of the idea of "worst episodes" I try to think of an episode that I would never want to see again or would skip a rerun of it on FX. I simply can't think of one. I'm shocked that Buffy fans can. Infact I could do it with any other show but Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Episodes from each of my favorite tv shows come to mind from Angel, Veronica Mars, Southpark, Sex and the City, Twin Peaks, hell even the Daily Show but not Buffy.
I must say I'm quite taken aback at the mention of many good episodes especially "The Zeppo" which so slyly reintroduced us to one of our main characters, added the light that he deserves, and amusingly poked fun at itself. These are your opinions which I respect your right to have but...really worst?
I whole-heartedly agree with you on this. Whenever I watch my DVD sets, I just run through each episode - I just don't skip any. Buuuut since I did post in this thread, I do have a few episodes that come to mind that I don't like as much as others (some, which I realize have been mentioned before).
Season 1
"Out of Mind, Out of Sight" (I really don't like whiny characters - just forget about/deal with and move on.)
I, for one, didn't mind the monster-a-week thing. I mean, they really didn't have much to go on at the time and were introducing relationships and characters at this point. You have to give 'em a break on not having too many arcs in this season, especially considering the fact that it's half a season.
Season 2
"Some Assembly Required" (This theme seemed to be a little repetitive within all seasons i.e. "I Was Made to Love You," Adam. This just kind of...seemed the weakest of all.)
"Go Fish" (I'm not really sure why I don't like this much. I remember the dialogue being consistently funny. I just...didn't...like it. *shrug*)
I really liked a lot of the episodes in this season. A lot were mentioned as being the "worst." I liked "Inca Mummy Girl" simply because it was classic how Xander continually falls for some kind of demon or thing. Also, Jonathan had a pretty humorous scene with her. As for "Reptile Boy," well, Xander's experience with the frat boys just did it for me. Then there was "Lie to Me." I really liked this episode. First, it brought back someone from Buffy's past - someone who she thought she could trust, but ultimately couldn't. It was pretty dark at times, too. Second, as mentioned before, was the priceless Angel comment on vampire-wannabes not knowing how they act and dress. I think someone defended "Killed By Death" earlier pretty much.

"Dead Man's Party" (Gotta agree with everyone for all the aforementioned reasons.)
"Gingerbread" (Blah. Just...blah.)
*Shrug* I like "Beauty and the Beasts" probably because I'm a Buffy shipper. What can I say? ;]
Season 4

Okay, I am definitely in support of "Living Conditions." I'm sorry, but I found it utterly hilarious. Just...wow. What makes it funny is that there are actual roommates out there like that (minus the demon part). "Beer Bad" was salvaged, as said above, by Buffy knocking Parker out. Also, Kal Penn of
Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle is in it, so that's a plus right there. ;D
Season 5
"Buffy Vs. Dracula" (Mmm as stated, Dracula just...wasn't working for the show. Heh.)
"Out of My Mind" (See Season 4 bad eps)
"Listening to Fear" (Meh. Really bad idea. I understand Ben wanted to clean up Glory's mess, but...blaaah.)
Okay, I didn't mind "Real Me." I mean, it wasn't my favorite, but at some points, I could understand and feel how Dawn felt. She was certainly annoying at times, but I could deal. With "Into the Woods," well, this has to be the only Riley episode I truly love because he leaves.
😀 "I Was Made to Love You," was good (in my opinion, of course) because it introduced Warren, and without the Buffybot, Spike and Buffy wouldn't have had that scene (drawing a blank in which episode it was) where she goes back to Spike's pretending to be the robot.
Season 6
"All the Way" (Least favorite Halloween episode. It made me sad, although I'm glad it made Dawn not so whiny anymore.)
"Doublemeat Palace" (Pretty much self-explanitory.)
"As You Were" (Eww Riley I thought you said you were gone for good. >.<)
"Hell's Bell's" (Laaaaaaaame. Just when I thought Joss was going to give us one happy relationship.)
Even though I'm a major Bangel shipper, I like Spuffy - I do. This is why I like "Smashed," because even though Buffy doesn't admit it, I know she at least felt something for Spike (deeper than the sex, obviously). I liked "Entropy," because I like Anya.
Season 7
"First Date" (Nooooo. They went from John Ritter as a special guest star to Ashanti? Where's the logic in that?)
Although there weren't too many particular episodes I didn't like much, I think a lot of the other seasons' arcs were just...better. Nearly all of the episodes in this season pertained to the plot and there were very few self-containing episodes. Even though I don't like whiny people, "Help," I have to admit, was a good episode. Especially with the foreshadowing of Spuffy via Cassie. With "Him," you have to admit, it had it's pretty funny scenes - especially that one with Robin Wood. I watch it and it still cracks me up. Although it was truly quite weird seeing Willow as Warren, I think the moral/theme were presented effectively, and it just...wow. I really liked it (as much as I don't like Tara). And, without "Empty Places," we wouldn't have had that special Spuffy moment, and more importantly, Buffy wouldn't have gotten the motivation from him, and later, finding the scythe.
Aaaannnnd that's all. Now, I realize that your opinions are yours and I respect 'em, and mine are mine. So chyeah. And I also realize the majority of people won't read this entire post. Haha.
